This may be true but NCAA mimics a whole lot of NFL trends....Portal is Free Agency...Both have highly paid Head Coaches ...Both have huge T.V.deals..and oh both use the running clock...both have review..so NCAA obviously thinks NFL procedures work to the fullest... oh **** I forgot they both have a playoff format...
Yeah, and I'm not going to worry about it because there's nothing I can do about. I really only care that WE make the playoffs.

It was probably posted by Stetson Bennett. That would explain how he left UGA after all those years without a degree.

He can’t post it because he is in rehab. That’s funny but not at the same time. Hope he gets his life together. My brother and aunt are alcoholics. I have personally witnessed how it can destroy one’s life and family. 3 times my brother was in the ER with a BAL over 0.40. He should be dead or in jail but he is okay.

The College Football Playoff committee is 'leaning' towards a 5+7 format for the expanded playoff,
@CFBHeather
reports👀

A 5+7 format means the top 5 conference champions and the next 7 highest-ranked teams would make the 12-team CFP.

What’s the “current” format for the 12 team format?

The “top 5 conference champions”? Which conference, any conference? That would be dumb.

I don’t love automatic bids. I want the 12 best teams seeded accordingly, period.

Now, if auto bids for conference winners are still seeded accordingly and don’t just automatically get a bye, home field advantage, or whatever else they decide then I’m fine with it.
Agreed. No auto byes or home field for “conference champions”.

I know that is the assumption floating around, but has it been confirmed that Stetson is in rehab for alcoholism?

Eh auto bids for conference winners is super fair. NFL operates that way so college should too imo
Lol. No way.

“Super fair”? Get out of here. It would be patently unfair to award an upset winner of the Big12 an auto bid over a higher ranked team from the SEC or B1G.

And 1 - the NFL is vastly different
And 2 - who cares what they do

Yes!

I’ve said “no” to Clemson because the SEC already has that market. But trade them for South Carolina would be a slam dunk.
South Carolina can suck eggs. South Carolina brings nothing to the table, no tradition, weak teams, and terrible fan base...no excitement.

The highlight of their season is a carnival.

SC is the girl that walks by, and makes the turtle head dissapear.

Lol ok. Until conferences mean nothing, conference championships should mean something. As of now, conferences still mean something. Seed teams based off resume

Did this analysis this morning. Posted it in the FF, but wanted to also post here. Thoughts on this?

The chart below is the number of points we've scored per 3-minute period of each of our 4 football games so far. Each tick mark at the bottom represents a 3-minute period in which we did not score.

View attachment 582684

UVA: 7 straight periods with no TD (>21 min)
AP: 9 straight periods with no TD (2 FGs) (>27 min), then, another 6 periods (>18 min) in the 2nd half.
UF: THIRTEEN straight periods with no TD (1 FG) (>39 min)
UTSA: 8 straight periods with no TD (1 FG) (>24 min)

We have to cut down on these lulls.
This is why I have said that this year's team is reminiscent of the 2021 team. We would often have a flurry of scoring offset by long periods of drought where it seemed we couldn't even move the ball. Gotta get out of those funks quicker.
