No doubt man, but as a dad who has flipped his cool before in a situation I am not going to condemn that cop to hell. This is too high profile for the truth not to come out and I am sure that cop is going to have a very bad day either way. His boss has heat now so he has heat even if he had been right.

The funny part is we pay cops and teachers about the same. We demand high EQ (emotional intelligence) in both, but high EQ has proven to be one of the biggest predictors of income. So why would high EQ people go into low income jobs...
Because high EQ people recognize emotion, including their own.

One of the predictors on EQ testing is pointing out facial expression - non verbal cue - from pictures of other people.

This is empathy. Ability to see how others are feeling, and showing care. Integral in forming relationships, a key component in management, and in business world. But, not always. Wouldnt it follow that if you recognized your own emotions, and showed care to others' emotions, that you would have a strong desire to help others?

Those with strong EQ, tend to migrate to leader type positions, such as in favor of financial compensation. Bottom line, folks with strong EQ like to help others, wonder how that would translate to being a police officer?

Not a police hater, as I have close family that are police officers and I empathize with what they do what how much they do it for. Also, having close family that are police officers, I distrust the very mentality of the police. They give lip service to the need to de-escalate, but also freely admit that they are trained to always escalate above the level of the person they are interacting with. Looks like that's what happened here. Confusion led to ego. Still... How the hell do you jump on someone's slow moving car and then charge them for assaulting you with their car? That seems a blatant misuse of the laws. Borders on lying.
We don't have the footage. He could have jumped in front and scottie kept the car moving, causing him to jump on the hood.

But in general, I agree. It does seem like a cop ego scenario. Hate to jump to the conclusion without why proof though.

Pal and his son (which is now run by a young CEO - Haslam CoB grad), made it a point to only grow the business regionally.

Pal's continues to put money into its Nationally recognized culinary training program. They built a location last year on John B Dennis, and that was considered substantial for them.

Cookout has 326 locations. Pals has 30.

Pals is continuing to pour more money into its training facility. And, based on information ive gathered will continue to do that. They have 0 desire to grow beyond that. Id say as long as Rick is alive the legacy will stay in tact.

Additionally they do so much with their marketing through Eastman, and be the best Regional brand they can be. They are extremely proud of this, to a point where they created a brand called Creative Energy. Lauds itself as a premier marketing company, that competes with razor thin budgets.

Anyway, their business model continues to be extremely conservative. Finding ways to cut operational costs instead of generate revenue, such as having one of the fastest times from order to finish.

Really an interesting company. Theyve been a client for years. In fact they routinely host visitors from other, larger companies at their facility next to Eastman, to show them examples of their Nationally Recognized training program.

Good people.

Long and short, comparing Cookout to Pals is apples and bananas.
Food only. Pals is a laudable business. Not their food though. But there's a place for cheap food, and they fill that space well.

Never tried one. A visit to Portillo's means Italian beef every time, in my world.
My co-worker (Chicago native) is the same way and isn’t really a sweets guy but raves about their chocolate cake. My wife got the inspiration to try their cheeseburger from his…all she ever orders. Still love Italian Beef but next time it’ll be AT the restaurant so I can get the gravy on the sandwich. Also want to try their chili dog. Damn, now I’m hungry!

Not disagreeing at all. However... If Scottie had tried to run over a police officer to get to his tee time, do we think he would have been released? Like I said, if Scottie attacked a police officer with a car as a deadly weapon, then lock him up. But that sure doesn't seem to be the case here.

Anymore, most fast food is neither fast, good, nor cheap. Basically, fast food used to have exactly one thing going for it. It was fast. Now, they don't even have that going for them, at least in the Chattanooga area. I don't see how they miss that need in their business model.

Which one of you yahoos suggested the Capcut application? Just got a 'security notice' to immediately remove it from my computer. Apparently, it's related to tik tok.

It's obvious what happened to anyone who's ever been in a confusing traffic situation with an incompetent person directing traffic.

Assuming the cop wasn't injured, and he obviously wasn't, the solution should have been for the PD and the golf course to let him through as quickly as possible as to hide their shame in not being able to effectively operate traffic around an event with a few thousand people. They have decided to go the... ahem.... other route.

I see the Louisville PD is doubling down on embarrassing themselves by pressing charges...
One week ago...
