Im not a recruiting guru at all but Im just going by what many on this site posted after GM committed. " Top 5 class incoming" quote the Raven nevermore.

I think it’s safe to say this staff will never get a top 5 class. Or if they do it’ll be because Ohio state, Georgia, Texas or Bama are down or something. This staff isn’t a Urban Meyer/Mack Brown/ Kirby Smart/ Nick Saban type of unrelenting recruiting mindset and operation
So expecting a top 5 class from the staff is highly unlikely
They’ll always be 10-15 range and that’s that. Will it be enough? We’ll see. As the years go by if they can’t break through, something will happen

I don't believe a top 5 class is as important now that the Portal carries so much weight in filling holes in position of needs.

Optional yes, but how many schools like a Wake Forest will want to attempt to stay in a P5 situation and find out they can't. They will slowly can their sports until nothing left and they still won't be able to be a big boy at the end of the day. We will see that 40 team super conference and everything else is going to die off. That is alot of kids missing out on college sports at the end of all of this. Sankey and his B10 counterpart care nothing about any level of school outside of their sphere. They will quit playing the ETSUs and Austin Peays of the world and those programs will all die off too. I get market forces and all, but at the expense of most all college sports? Unintended consequences incoming.....

Unintended..but absolutely foreseeable to those of us that could see what was coming a long time ago.
