Letter to the FSU fans crying:
Both teams made mistakes to give the game away and made plays to win the game. Both teams made multiple errors defensively. Chalk it up to the clay, grass, or nerves. Blake Burke mistakes made up 4-5 runs for FSU alone. FSU mistakes gave UT 2-3 and cost FSU 1 at least. You can't whine over the ifs and buts, that's part of the game that 1 team overcomes to win and the other doesn't.
A single call doesn't decide a ball game. At the end of the day, FSU shouldn't have even been pitching to Blake Burke. FSU had 5 chances to get 3 outs through the bottom of the Vols' order before Burke walked up including walking a pinch hitter showing a bunt in 5 pitches. Had enough pitches to Burke to end the game before the checked swing. Had multiple pitches after. After surrendering the tying run, FSU had 2 more batters they could've retired to go to extra innings and couldn't. At the end of the day, 1 call didn't decide the game. Tennessee outhit FSU 18-13 and made those hits count. FSU's aces did all they could but still couldn't contain Tennessee's offense. At the end of the day, that's what it came down to.
