Bet we can also get just about any transfer we want as well if Tony truly wants them on the team...Yep, next year should still be a pretty good team.
FR: Curley, Loy
SO: Dreiling, Snead, Chapman, Peebles, Bargo, Behnke, Garcia, AJ Russell
A few guys that are draft eligible but could return as well. Backus, Taylor, Hunter, Combs, Causey
Great postKirby gives his all for Tennessee. Goes above and beyond. He's earned the right to come into the game in whatever situation Tony wants him. He has been a cornerstone for the program's development into the powerhouse it is. If Tony feels he is the right guy for the situation, he is the right guy. I don't like Stamos starting in front of Causey - at all. But that is Tony's call and I am here for it. He has his reasons. Nobody should ever feel he chooses player loyalty over winning.
FSU eats up junk ballers. That is one good line-up of hitters. Which is why FSU had no trouble handling Causey as well. They are disciplined and good. UNC doesn't have that firepower. Going power pitcher, junk baller, power pitcher messed them up. Sometimes it is as simple as that.
A few of us preferred Beam starting Friday. You saw why. The park suits his style better and we felt the match-up was better with Beam against FSU. Tony stuck with what he had done most of the season. Had our D played better it probably would have looked like the best decision ever.
We can all like certain players over others and that is fine. Tony was right about Kirby yesterday. His style and pitching smarts were the perfect antidote for a tough situation. Redmond had his day, Kirby now has his. Kirby's highpoint is bigger IMO. But at the end of the day, they both are outstanding VFL's.
Yup. When late stage capitalism and late stage alcoholism combine we can do great thingsShould we be mad if they did? It's not like there's some false pretense here. I hope they made out like bandits. And I hope the food bank was blessed beyond measure. Both things can be true.
Capitalism at its finest.
Forgot about Antigua and Villeneuve.Yep, next year should still be a pretty good team.

Was it just me or did it look like he caught it, slammed into the wall, bobbled it for a moment...then snatched it right back? One of the greatest catches I’ve ever seen. Especially on that stage. When we win it all that play should simply be known as “The Catch “
Make the ball heavier so the pitches go slower?Or...we should combat pitchers throwing historically harder than ever by allowing professionals the use of aluminum bats!
To be honest, I don't advocate people dying from getting hit by a missile off the metal bat of a major leaguer. Which I do think would happen.
However, the pitching velocity is terrible for MLB in my opinion. Way to many injuries by pitchers chasing extra velocity and a boring product to watch overall. Limited action.
Will Russell be able to pitch next year? Tommy John Surgery usually takes at least a year to recover fromForgot about Antigua and Villeneuve.
Will be interesting to see what the lineup becomes next year.
C: Peebles - Lawless - Taylor
1B: ? Villeneuve - Transfer
2B: ? Curley - Transfer
SS: Antigua
3B: ? Curley - Transfer
OF: Dreiling
OF: ? Backus
OF: ? Chapman
UTL: Bargo
I assume Antigua will edge Curley out of SS. This also assumes Ensley is gone. There's a bunch of redshirts too who may jump in there and take a spot.
Pitching should be solid again like you mentioned: Snead, Garcia, maybe Causey, Behnke, maybe Combs, Hunley, Russell, Loy, Phillips, and Dallas. I'd assume we would get a transfer or 2, plus whoever is coming in from the recruiting class.
My wish.Forgot about Antigua and Villeneuve.

Someone literally couldn't wait last night to question why he was going into the game, asking if it was "just because of experience"Agreed.
Also, I guess my point was that just because they allow hits and aren't blowing past guys and throwing up great strikeout #'s doesn't make either of them "trash". They do their job and there's a reason Kirby has consistently pitched for some of the best college baseball teams in history. And it ain't because he's a charity.
Gif from the unknown Dumb and Dumber…previously unseen in the wild. Are we still virgin nerds, if the paternity tests show positive?
