Greatest live band ever. Seen them 10 times and never been disapointed.

Now....The current line-up (age as well)....probably not what they used to be, but I'll be 6th row, center isle, in 3 weeks!
Gene Simmons still licking his eyebrows at his age🤣🤣

Nolan was my idol when I was pitching as a kid in the late 80's/early 90's. There were several reasons for his longevity. He had great mechanics using his legs and hips along with his shoulders. He also only had 3 pitches- fastball, curveball, and a circle change. He did not torque his elbow throwing his curveball. He slightly changed his grip and adjusted his wrist angle, which prevented stress on the elbow. Unbelievable pitcher and competitor.

For those interested, watch this 3 minute video.

You missed a couple of pitches. Rib ball when he plunked you as hard as he could and a knuckle ball ask Ventura about that one.

We are looking at a QB battle between Nico and Merklinger next season. Do any of you all believe we will seek a transfer portal QB for next season if nothing else to make the competition more fierce and to provide another option at QB. Nico is a skinny guy and Merk would be one play away from going in, which is hard for a true freshman in the SEC. Any potential transfer portal QBs you guys could see leaving their school after this season? I think we should get some O-line help, and another QB TBH. It’ll be interesting to see.

I would lean towards no. Heupel didn't get a QB via the portal this year.

We ran a lot WR screens early last year. It was a play Saban thought was very effective for us; therefore he complained about it to his media and his Birmingham Office subsidiary after the game, and as a direct result we started being flagged on it everytime we ran the play after the AL game. It was irrelevant to the officials that there were no illegal picks: they just called it every time.

iirc we called the WR screen against KY early and they flagged a legal block. We went back to it not long after with the same result. Heup finally waved his arms at the officals ("get out of here with this crap"), but he had seen that it was that crew's policy, so we didn't use it again that night.

In the game against the Chickens last year we were flagged on it right away (in our first series iirc.) Again it made no difference that there was no illegal pick. Heup seemed to me to have concluded that it was not a particular official or crew, but a set policy Saban had dictated, and why (because Saban thought it was a great play for us). Thus a nearly automatic 2nd and short would be turned in a long yardage situation.

I don't think we used it again much or maybe ever again until this year, when some of our fans took up Saban's position for Saban, and tried to ban it. Only, as opposed to Saban, they didn't understand or maybe even care if it was a good play for us, as long as it could be used to complain about our QB.
