Fair enough. I think I asked years back, but do you live in St Pete?
Not anymore...I lived in Pinellas (mostly Clearwater-Largo) for about 9 years altogether. I've lived in Harlan Kentucky since 2015.

My middle daughter and son-in-law still live there, and we have tons of friends including our best friends.

It will always be home to us, every time we visit it feels like coming home....even more than east Tennessee. If we ever leave this place, it will probably be where we go to live out our days.

I don't understand why people always try to downplay what York did...without him doing what he did that outfit was a goner...period....much less taking all those Germans prisoner.

Also...anybody that knows anything about Alvin York knows why he wasn't proud of it.

Not directed at you, just over people that always point out extreme exaggerations of a few idiots like they somehow discredit the very real acts of extreme heroism that absolutely WAS performed.
Agree

Hold your loved ones close, y’all. Went to a wedding tonight to see a happy couple tie the knot, only to get a text that a very close friend, just 32 years old, had a severe brain bleed and died today. One love story begins, another one ends tragically the same night. Life is precious. Life is short. Cherish every moment you have with the ones you love. Doesn’t matter how old you are. Tomorrow isn’t promised. This man had just got married last year, just bought a house two months ago, and now he is gone. RIP.
I am so sorry

I'm so sorry to hear that. My mentor officiated over a wedding and died at that very wedding. He was old but it was as you say one story began while another ended. We never know when we'll go. We can only hope that when we're called home we can say we lived, loved and were loved. It's what I aspire to every day.
