Recruiting Football Talk VII

In order of importance:

Vols in all sports
Carolina Hurricanes (Live in RDU now)
Baltimore Orioles (Went to school in Baltimore)

Nobody else really matters to me. Grew up in LA but big markets are obnoxious so the Lakers/Dodgers were never considered. Give me the small markets that do more with less and skip all the big-market and bandwagon crap. Makes the wins all the more satisfying.

It did not take me long at all to convince my wife to marry me. I gave her lemonade on our first date and after that, she realized we were meant to be. I guess you could say I Schwepped her right off her feet.
When life gives you a pile of garbage, you make this "joke" out of it.

You can tell many of the teams I root for `by who was good in the 70's. Reds, Lakers, Cowboys. After living in Detroit area, Red Wings are my team (was there during their run and it was so exciting).

Now what do the abbreviations IOP and NSC stand for? Recently posted.

Siap but here Gary Danielson's thoughts on Neyland Stadium

View attachment 586406
Gary Danielson has also been in football in some form or fashion for damn near 60 years and still routinely misunderstands rules and has zero idea what's going on so...

I make it a point to find tickets when he's on the call. So glad the SEC will be done with him next year.

Nessler is OK. Hopefully he is getting hazard pay.

Nah think I will sit by myself. .....Kershaw back next year or not....Do they go all in on Ohtani...or Snell...does Roberts get fired (nah)...lots of questions for next season..
Obviously wouldn't mind Ohtani or Snell. Not sure about Roberts. I don't think he's failing to push the right buttons. But at some point the pathetic post season performances have to be accounted for. And with regular season attendance remaining very high, not sure the owners will feel the need to change anything in the front office. But the lack of moves to shore up pitching is 100% on the front office. I don't know how you explain what happens to our hitters in the post season. Mookie is 3-38 in playoff games since 2021.

Ohtani won’t pitch next year so he’s not an immediate help

You're a Dodger that calls Braves fans "Bandwagon"?....that's hilarious. I was a Braves fan when I was a kid because that was the team on TV every night in the small Texas panhandle town I lived in, and I liked Dale Murphy and Bob Horner....the Braves were the worst team in the National league most of those years.
i didn’t call all Braves fans Bandwagon fans…. There were just a lot around me when i was younger. i couldn’t stand the Braves bc they were from Georgia. I couldn’t like them bc i spent the entire fall hating the Georgia Bulldogs… i couldn’t cheer for their Pro Teams.

Wes Rucker
@wesrucker247

Heupel entered the room for his weekly Thursday presser with his hat turned around backwards.

So he's feeling good today.
So he’s literally fulfilling the “Vols by Fiddy” memes that i believe @UTSuave’ creates?!

Maybe we ARE living in a simulation 🤔

What’s exactly wrong the the laptop. I have a friend who would help if needed. Free of charge.

I'm assuming it shorted out but I have no idea how bad it is or what parts. It was on when the puke happened but there was so much of it that it turned it off (basically like pouring water on it, although every laptop I've ever had has survived an accidental spill of coffee or coke). I turned it so it would drain as much as I could but I haven't been able to get it to even flicker. Something is dead for sure and it might be the whole thing. I don't know if it's the cpu or gpu or motherboard.

But how? You just chose? Lol. I don’t understand.

Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Braves
Atlanta United
Atlanta Hawks
Tennessee Vols

I don’t see how people can like teams from cities and places all over the country and have an affiliation ha
My favorite teams were established in the early/mid-70s when I was less than 10 years old. Where I grew up there were no regional affiliations to pro sports and this was pre-TBS and we didn't have cable anyway so there just were no "natural" affiliations. So it really followed my favorite players.

In the NFL, Miami was riding high and Bob Griese and Larry Csonka were my dudes. All Dolphins ever since.

Huuuge Garvey fan, and big fan of that whole 70s Dodger infield.

Rick Barry was my guy in bball, so Golden State, although I drifted away from NBA in the mid-80s.

Vols— went to school there (for way longer than I should have).

These teams will always be my teams, no matter where I am. It's not even a choice now, it just is what it is.

Cincinnati and Atlanta were about equidistant from me in East Tn. I chose the Reds because of the Big Red Machine. But for some reason, most seemed to choose the Braves.

I chose the Reds as well. My best friend chose the Braves and yeah, most chose the Braves for some reason but they're equally close. And because of the similar distance when I was about 10 or so, my step-dad said we could go to either Six Flag's or King's Island and take in either a Braves or Reds game my pick. I was already a Reds fan so I chose to go see the Big Red Machine in person
