Recruiting Football Talk VIII

My take:

Our success on defense will lie on Arian Carter’s shoulders. We have good corners and an elite DL. The inevitable 3rd and 7/ 3rd & 9… Jackson Arnold can and will scramble. He’s their offense. I think Arion’s athleticism will tilt the scales in our favor.

Our success on offense lies on Nico (duh). They’ll play two high and load the box. They will do their best to keep Sampson bottled up. The middle will have availability. He has to play smart. If it’s not there, throw it away or scramble for a modest gain. Please don’t be a hero, we don’t need that. Let your defense win this one. It won’t be a shootout.

I love it. The price of having an elite program. Some of yall need to study supply and demand. Some of yall wanted to be an elite program but didn’t want to pay the price it seems. Welcome to the no longer amateur world of college sports. Glad Tennessee is making its place among the elite.
Exactly. Would rather go back to Dooley butch and pruett era football so you can afford to go watch us get beat by GA State?

This is how businesses (yes, collegiate athletics too) brainwash people. Making people think their product is elite or more elite to the competitors b/c you are paying more for it. Phones and clothing is what comes to my mind first.
I think it's more elite because we just won a world series, our basketball team made a deep run in the tournament, and our football team is winning more games than they have in a long time. Not because of how much it costs.

I think we jump out really early like we did on LSU. Up 14-0 or 10-0 within the first 2-3 possessions.

From there we play a little more conservative than I like and take a 21 or 24 to 3 lead at halftime.

Finish the game 41 to 10 or 41-17 but never really threatened.
Inject it into my veins

Now add the ticketmaster or stubbing fees.
Now add gas or plane ticket
Now add hotel cost
Now add multiple meals out to eat.

Not affordable at all.
And yet every game is sold out....so clearly some people can afford it. If they're sold out, they should be raising prices until they're not selling out. That's just common sense.

If anything, they AT LEAST should have waited till we made a playoff run before doing this.

I hope it pans out, but fans aren’t gonna want to pay for Cheez-It bowl champs
This is dumb..if we don't pay, we won't even go to a Cheeze-it-Bowl...you just might as well quit caring about the Vols now because there are going to be down years.

will dylan rush for 100 or 150? Im thinking 200

yeah boys im high as hell on the vols. always have been
I'd lean closer to 130, but bet the over on Nico tossing 248.5. I would also bet the under on Arnold at 243.4.

Arnold only tossed for 169 against Tulane. He ran for 97. I would bet the over on the current run total for him too.

We are now first for the collective system and revenue sharing. Tell me how much has it really helped? The same teams round out the top 10, and we usually finish 10-13.

So essentially, they want us to pay more for the same recruiting results.

Like you, and others have said the big programs will follow suit, so we really don’t have any major advantage over those teams….again.

Should have waited till we made a playoff run (results) and no one would be complaining about this.
So...quit...looks like that is your only recourse to this horrific tragedy.

The message on Saturday to these 20s something Okies carrying on about our "gimmick offense"....

The team that until about 3 years ago was nothing but an air raid offense and zero defense. They don't know what good defense looks like.
