Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Yes! It’s always been this way especially in football, SEC FOOTBALL.
I remember hearing about the first million dollar coach‘s contract. I remember when coaches got fired the money STOPPED.
Someone wanted a coach so bad they promised to pay him even if they fired him.
In all these instances other schools had to follow along or get left behind. Same today.
I blame Jimmy Sexton

The thing that worries me. . . because I'm a Tennessee fan. . . Is OU's QB running. He's got some legs. I hope our ends keep him inside and let our LBs destroy him if he decides to run. I think we're faster than anyone they've played on defense, so he may have looked better at running than he really is.
So far Pearce has been very disciplined about containment. That means QB is pushed into the collapsing center of the pocket. And short "sucker" throws to the RB trying to swing behind Prarce have been for naught. He's not taken the bait.

If we just do some quick round math for 2025 tickets:

7 home games X 100,000 fans X ~$40 average per ticket increase = $28 mil

Maybe $40 average per ticket is liberal...maybe it's actually less per ticket (some will be more, some less obv)...

$40 isn't breaking the bank if you're committed to going to a game anyway. JMO
Now multiply that times 4

He has been sacked a ton against far less capable teams.

Ticket prices are usually in the lower half of the list of pricey expenses to go to a game lol.

Don't remember that, but I do remember that weekend learning he was the guy in the stands with the celebs.

Is he really a UT fan though? Please tell me we didn't land an outed racist as a fan, though most of America wouldn't recognize him at least. We can take literally anyone else. Our luck is just barely better with country artists than USCjr 🤢🤮

Give me Dolly and Johnny Cash and I'm good on that front.
Dude...he is not a racist...FFS...that is stupid 🦬💩

Absolutely do it. And sooner than later. I've heard there are some around the Smokies and Blue Ridge.

We, as a small immediate family, only pushed ourselves to do it because my dad had just passed. We went just south of Santa Barbara, could see the Pacific for miles on the way down. Once in a lifetime experience. I'll never do it again, but it was 110% worth it.
When I said my knees were destroyed I was exaggerating.

The article I read (and I'm looking at it again now for confirmation) says 10% "talent fee" plus an "initial 4.5% average increase". Love the use of the word "initial". That means they're already planning future increases.
People were talking about the talent fee, I thought. I was. That's what is going to NIL. But I see what you're saying.

I am happy that Tennessee is having the kind of success that justifies raising ticket prices. I am dismayed that, like with many luxuries, it's becoming unreachable for people of more modest means. The stadium will never want for fans, but I wish more folks could get in the door. It's a hell of an experience every time.

I guess. He framed it like it was a gift to the fans. It seems to me like he's the one getting the gift.

I don't know about him being racist. I think he's just kind of dumb and likes to party too hard. And I agree, saying the n word is wrong and should not be said by anyone. But, I'll admit, some of those rap songs are catchy. You just have to be extra careful if you're white and want to sing them. You can lose everything, especially if someone catches you on video repeating Wu-Tang or NWA songs.

#bro-country sucks
Wallens music may suck to some people but he isn't a f'n racist....I hate that stupid 🦬💩

Idk what bro country is, though it does sound deplorable 😅

Yeah if he was at least singing along or something idk, but just yelling it at a friend off the cuff...well you know what they say about alcohol poision being a truth serum. Enter Mel Gibson and Ice Cube too...
Come on man...context means everything...I hate this stupid crap..it's gotta stop.

People don't know what a racist f'n is anymore...I remember them well from when I was a kid. I haven't seen a real one in a looooong time.

Considering Okie is one of the new guys in the conference, they are talking an awful lot of s***! How ‘bout we shut those mouths up!!😏
The last time we played the Okies I was so mad I yelled the last time they scored that the next time I read Grapes Of Wrath I am going to root for the drought. Wifey laughed so hard she was crying, and when she asked me who we play this week, she started laughing and imitating me saying that. 😂 So, F the Okies!

I mostly was pissed that our idiot coach started trying to run the clock out about halfway through the 3rd quarter. The farthest worry from my mind now. Bless CJH.
