Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Co-worker of mine has 2 cell amplifiers and her husband & her have both AT&T & Verizon. They work remote out of a RV. Also a good option & a few solar panels keep the RV batteries charged. If it’s a cloudy day they have a gas generator & the RV alternator as well to keep power.

Definitely thinking it’s worth investing in a good generator system.
Gas generator and a couple of fairly powerful solar generators here. Def worth it.

Yeah...I figure that to be the case, but still..
All these folks in the affected areas are going through a tough learning process. I know it was difficult going without electricity for about 3 days but there are other ways to cook. Trying to keep it short. Then you add in no running water which I have found is worse to deal with. Takes a couple of days to get things figured out it's inconvenient but we have finally settled in. Finally have electricity. But no running water is the most annoying. GBO I need football. Thanks to VN for keeping me informed on whats been going on in the sports world.

It pissed me off...they come out against us being super aggressive on defense, and playing with their hair on fire, and came out last night playing Charmin soft and passive until it was too late...what in the heck was Kirby thinking with that squishy defense?

I hope they do that against us...but they won't.
Kirby knows he doesn't have the same kinda defense he's had in the past and was being super cautious because he was afraid of Milroe running wild on them. He did not want to play man coverage and have the dbs turn their back to the quarterback.
In the end it didn't really matter because Lurch gave the ball away four times amd they were all very bad freshman mistakes. It was Christmas miracle that they were even in that game. I wasn't wowed by either Alabubba or the Mutts. Alabama is the better team but they are not the Alabama of old.

was looking back at our roster and there are a couple walk on/PWO/NIL Walk-on (dunno where the designations apply as info is scarce) players I am looking forward to seeing as they progress in future years. Braylon Harmon at returner-- we have had good returners for awhile now but this kid is my bet to be our guy back there in a year or two-- his tape at returner is scary. The other is Herb Gray, turned down Penn st, WVU, Maryland offers to PWO (likely NIL covered) here and fits the Tyre West mold. Basketball player who converted to football later on. His mid season senior year (i believe) tape is mostly him eating in the backfield all night. Think we got a couple diamonds in the rough with these kids.

Im a sucker for our staff's evals man
With NIL I believe you will see more and more PWOs. It is a perfect way around scholarship limits and teams with strong NILs will use it as such.

There is a trick to get your starlink quickly
Got mine in 8 days rather than over a year wait
You find on Starlink map where starlink is immediately available
Then search Google earth there
Then you find a valid address of an old abandoned house or anywhere
Order with that as your address and change ship to.... To your home
I did this couple years ago

There's a lot of myth surrounding TVA. I remember talking about TVA taking land as a kid (just repeating what everyone always claimed) and my grandmother looked at me and said, ''no, child, daddy made a lot of money selling that to TVA. It was useless land at that point."

In truth, all of East, TN is fortunate the TVA came along when it did. History would've turned out differently if it hadn't. Not just electrifying the region either or the massive improvements to flood control. Take the atom bomb... Oak Ridge was using more power than Manhattan. Where oh where did that power come from?
The city of Oakridge exists because of the Manhattan Project.

Both coaches have conceded the game.

Venables wants to keep it respectable.

CJH knows OU can't score and doesn't want to get any more injuries. Just bleed out the clock.
He didn’t want to embarrass his college where he played and coached despite how it ended. Probably to honor his MOM and all his memories of her at OU.

No other team will get the conservative scheme this season.

16-0 🤠

I’m glad we won but this game plan was to not beat them bad and just win. We looked like a shell of our team. I know Josh huepel went to school there but we could have won by so much more. Go Vols but this was just a shell of our potential. I’m happy for the win but we hit the brakes and not the gas for most of the game.
The Vols will destroy the sooners in Neyland next season for

16-0 🤠

Part II

As we all know, college football is more than just a game. My dad is in his late 70s, has cancer, and doesn’t have a lot of energy. He typically goes to bed early. I talked to my mom a few days after the Oklahoma win. She said, “Your dad stayed up and watched that whole game THEN he watched all that after talk they do. The next day he watched more of that talk and then a replay of the game.”

I could tell just from what she said it was an important win to him after all these years of disappointment. I’m thankful for that. I did talk to him about it later and he’s obviously excited about the season.

Man that's encouraging.

That is great. Good for your dad. Makes me happy just hearing about it.

I guarantee you there are billions if not trillions that have been put in bills over the years for those kinds of things. A small fraction of it ever actually makes it's way to what it was earmarked for.
Anything that is earmarked for infrastructure in any bill should be called by its real name, slush fund.

No, you just don’t know anything about the Titans who you openly said you don’t follow yet try to say they do everything wrong lmao
I mean, they've done a lot wrong. You don't have to be a dedicated Titan's fan to see that. I watch games, follow stats, etc. And I think you know they've effed up a lot, you just don't want to admit it for some reason. They need to do better. They need to draft better. They need to hit the FA market better. They need to be run better than they have been. There's a lot to fix about the Titans. That's just a sad fact, and not meant to tease you. I'd honestly like to see them do better. But I don't see it happening with Levis.

And seeing DH go out there and tear it up in a Ravens' uniform. That stings. Sorry if that offends, but I hate how the Titans handled that.

I watched the whole game. You must not have. Like I said he had an average of 11 yards per pass. Short throws count. You said inaccurate passes everywhere in the second half which was demonstrably false. I love Nico but right now he is not better than Milroe. He definitely will be. But not right now.
Look troll, Nico is a far better qb right now than Milroe and after awhile it will be ludicrous to even compare them. Alabama would sacrifice Saban to Satan to get Nico. Milroe is Joe Milton with better wheels. Nico is going to be the first overall pick of the 2026 NFL draft.
