Recruiting Football Talk VIII

No it’s not. That was second to last game. This is week 6. Try harder to troll next time

Year 2. Year 4. Which is more forgivable to lose a to a **** team
I disagree with all of this but to put it simply. Losing 63-38 to the team of the state I live in while being 9-1 and them being 4-6 will never be beaten regardless of circumstance unless it happens again with us being 10-0 and them being 0-10.

I get that with the personal tie. At the end of the day they both ****ing suck just this one feels more on coaching than 22. 22 our defense just got exposed by a QB playing out of his mind. This game we tried to protect a 1 point lead and run clock ffs

I didn’t even mention my 7 months pregnant wife getting screamed at from frat ******s driving down the street while we were walking to the car post game. It’s amazing I didn’t go to jail after that game. It is the single worst loss I’ve ever experienced for many reasons. I just can’t even compute comparing that to this loss.

By the way this is CJH quote about the last play and running out of bounds. If your gonna argue about there not being a play or qb performance then I suggest you start with CJH. You are the only one dying on that hill....

"Yeah, it’s a full-concept read. He ended up scrambling off of it. End of the day, in that scenario, you’ve got to get the ball up and give one of your guys an opportunity to go make a play. Nico, just like me, and just like our football team, wishes that we had played better. That situation, you can’t keep the ball in your hands. You want to give somebody an opportunity to go make a play. He’s disappointed with it, but he’s got to come back and bounce back from it. He’s played way too good not to respond the right way, and I know he will.”
If I'm going to fault the kid for anything it's running out of bounds and trying for another shot....... Because he was put in bad situations all night due to o line and poor conservative play calling early downs.
Maybe he should have chucked it up for a wing and a prayer play instead of trusting his coach to give him one more good shot...... Like I said before, I'm not going to fault the kid for trusting his coaches and trying to get another shot at a better play. If he made the wrong call maybe Heup needs to reflect on his coaching and staff and prep decisions. Nico is the best option hands down......

Pin this on the kid of you want to........

I don’t care if it’s year 18. Losing in week 6 has much less impact than losing in week 14. Especially when you compare it to a game when we gave up 60+ 🤷🏻‍♂️

Good teams plug in a true freshman or two that are just next level playmakers year after year. We haven’t really seen that around here, this has to change or we aren’t recruiting right. Top 100 recruits on the backend, this has to happen going forward. For every Turrentine give me Fitzpatrick sprinkled in here and there. A lot left to be desired back there IMO.

I mean it’s comparing **** to ****, just this feels like more of a coaching blunder to me. That’s all

Stop the run with 2 safties, and there are few football games you cant win.

I do think next week pissed off team, and should be a good crowd and we probably do beat Florida, and people will be wanting all of us to eat our crow.

But the Bama game I have no idea what they will do, im glad its in Neyland though, I dont think this team would have much of a chance in Tuscaloosa.
Indeed. And the question becomes what adjustments can Heupel make to fix it? I think it’ll be hard because of the offense Heupel runs, a lot of people don’t realize his passing plays are majority choice routes, and a lot of RPO’s. That means the defense is literally dictating what our QB and WR’s do. I think running more power runs and 12 personnel will help a lot

I think it was a perfect storm of coaching and a qb making his 6th career start on the road at night

Which is why 2022 is still worse especially with what was on the line then and we have the whole season in front of us still this year

But fair enough

I guess it’s just hard to stomach a loss under CJH because your offense played like ****. Feels wrong. We have a QB with all the god gifted ability in the world, our coaching has to figure out a way to get him humming. Whether that’s opening the playbook, figuring out the oline, WR rotation, something. Squirrel has too many drops on the season. Bench him. Brazzell isn’t doing jack **** for the most part. Play Mike Mathews. Time to change **** up and find something that clicks

I mean I get it, but ultimately, they’re a bunch of kids so we should expect inconsistency, especially the new guys/starters.

People like squirrel sucking is unacceptable though

What a Lil bich... first of all you don't make sense, second you are the one claiming the season is effectively over... glad you aren't around the team with that attitude.

Also go back and check you post....

you are questioning where the play was at and stating there wasnt one to be made.....now u want to say there wasnt a good play, doesn't sound consistent...keep up or go to bed Lil buddy.

STFU, you couldn't make me angry if you tried.

For all intents and purposes it is over. We were expecting playoff. The only way that happens now is wins against Bama and Georgia....... We couldn't handle Arkansas. Both those teams are at least a tier or two above the team we played tonight.

You are splitting hairs pretending there's a difference between no good play and a wing and a prayer..... It's the same damn thing.... Throw it up and wish for the best....... Especially considering our receivers haven't won the play all night.

Like I've said all night I'm not going to fault the kid for trying to get another play in..... Except maybe for believing. Because this o line and staff coached and played a bad game. But so did he..... Pretending this is on him is about as dumb as dumb gets.

Have a good night!

Agreed. We made all the excuses in the world for CJH last season, many of which were valid. But this season has made us all look foolish and like we should’ve been questioning his play calling all along. It’s like we were sold a bill of goods about our coach being an offensive genius, when he’s now being bailed out by the defense on a weekly basis.

He loss who he was tonight. Yes we have a defense we can lean on at times now, it was the right call against OU. But there’s a big difference leaning on your defense up 19 and leaning on them up 1 or 4. Your offense has got to hold their own too. Team sport. Don’t lose your identity. Nico is gonna make mistakes, stop being terrified of it. It will make him better and the team better. This hand holding has to stop now, we’re holding ourselves back.

I’m going to be trying to cook up an ATD parlay instead of reading that mess
Bro do the negative correlation.
Under 3.5 receptions
70+ yards receiving

odds usually crazy

Jameson did it last week. Under 3.5 receptions for like 80 yards lol
