Your expectations for defense are dated IMO.

I don't think asking for stop when the game is on the line against the backup qb is asking a lot. Is asking them to get to 2nd down asking a lot?

Not a fair comparison. We have a history going back 23 years of backups ruining our seasons. Their stats vs any other team probably won’t be/aren’t great lol

I think his only issue is he likes to dance a little too much instead of just ripping it like you said.

There’s been times where I’m just like GO, but he will twirl around or keep running straight toward the sideline.

I use to worry about him protecting himself whereas Hendon had to show all his skills to be looked at for the NFL, but that’s not entirely fair to say considering the stats don’t lie.

It’s just happening far too often now. Anyone that deny’s it is a buffoon. I still think Heup is a good offensive coach (terrible with TO’s), I think we smack UF next week and have a close game with Bama.

Oh Kirby is amazing for sure, i don’t remember where I read it but I read Kirby had a defensive analyst specifically for Tennessee that watched and game planned all off season for that game. I’ll have to see if I can find it. They hardly ever had more than 5 in a box vs us. Lots of 3-2 with a star, even 4-1. Press man on the outside with 2 deep safeties.

That’s the most important part to stopping a Heup offense. Press man on the outside with 2 deep safeties, Dline has to crash the gaps. Pitt ran a lot of cover 1 and cover zero which had some success at times but the 2 deep safeties work a lot better

Stop the run with 2 safties, and there are few football games you cant win.

I do think next week pissed off team, and should be a good crowd and we probably do beat Florida, and people will be wanting all of us to eat our crow.

But the Bama game I have no idea what they will do, im glad its in Neyland though, I dont think this team would have much of a chance in Tuscaloosa.
