As I've said before, the camaraderie of this forum is the only reason I suffer through live broadcasts. It's easy to stay off the internet and TV to dodge spoilers beginning at kickoff, start the game an hour or more late, skip through commercials and halftime, and catch up by the end of the game.

The broadcasters need to raise their d-mn ad prices (if they want) and not ruin their product. The situation is made more infuriating by their propaganda when they trimmed actual game time last year by means of new rules. They said they did this because the broadcasts were too long. But the broadcasts are even longer after their new rules. Now the shorter play time may save some wear on player bodies over the course of the new epically long season. But their big sales pitch to fans is that the broadcast would be shorter, which was not true.

Yeah they were bringing LB pressure all game and we still refused to run any short to intermediate crossing or drag routes. We lacked creativity in the run game and apparently have one designed play which is an A/B gap dive.

Heup does not have Nico seeing the field well at all either. He’s not processing things smoothly and once he gets sacked he’s getting jumpy which is making things much worse

Yo serious question do we just not do that pop pass play to the TE anymore that hooker was so good at? I swear we don’t attack the seams with the TEs at all anymore and we barely did to start with.

Was watching a little bit of the highlights from yesterday and the thought came up.

My votes:
Vols beat both bama and uga
bama loses to both Vols and lsu, but I will allow them to beat lsu.
uga loses to Vols and beats both texas and ole miss.
ole miss loses to both uga and lsu
Texas A&M beats both lsu and texas
Lsu beats both ole miss and bama, but loses to A&M
texas loses at least 3 times. Don’t care. A&M, uga, and OU.
Vindictive is a comforting way of life right now 😡

I desperately need to see more TE action. It was so refreshing in week 1 and 2

Nor sure that’s true. On the play Nico made on the last drive downfield, I believe it was Squirrel (could be wrong, couldn’t see numbers) was breaking open on a quick crossing route and Nico just didn’t pull the trigger. I’m guessing there were more of those.

This is a response to your first part.

The second part I agree. Don’t think Nico is processing quickly.

Mizzou when they smoked us last year mixed it up and ran something they never put on tape. VQ guys have talked about it quite a bit.

Apparently teams have special packages they only show Heup in an effort to stop him.

I mean we’ve got 3 pretty good ones and 2 of them are really nimble and fast for TE’s so dk why we don’t use them more. If we run so well from 12 personnel the PA pass should work well from it. And imagine from that formation if we split them out to the slot or even out wide and move the receivers into the slot like the Saints used to do with Jimmy Graham to create mismatches. Heupel doing all this during the hurry up and drawing up plays the way he does or at least has in the past I would think would catch the defense so off guard.

Wonder what they would have done when Tennessee started the season 0-6? My second year of med school. It was awful looking forward to football season and being handed loss after loss.

I sent a letter to Coach Majors begging him to turn it around and not lose to Memphis State. I told him that I couldn’t go home for Christmas if the Vols lost to Tiger High.
The Vols won the remaining games of the season. Final record was 5-6, but the Vols felt like they were winners by the end of the season. Tiger High was the first of 5 straight wins.

Coach Majors wrote me back after the tiger high game. He stated that he felt like the team was turning a corner. Some of the losses were close. He promised good results! He was a good man.

So..... one thing that hasnt been discussed much.

The hit from ONL on Green was dirty..... I dont think he went back in after it. Does anyone think there might ne an internal suspension there? I think its justified if so.
