The crisis, such as their is, is all the back money the NCAA owes by means of negligence and mismanagement for a decade. There is no need to give the NCAA abundant no regulatory powers. That a whole separate issue they are smuggling in. NIL is going great.

Their obsession with setting caps is just avfancy way of saying re-instituting "bags," so the NCAA surrogate can go back to its crooked enforcement and deliberate non enforcement. imo.

They shouldn’t. I’m just saying if they’re gonna have their grubby hands in why should they have all the control. They’re definitely not an independent an unbiased entity.

Right on.

The NCAA has a scam I mean a plan for that. They want to set up a pretend "independent" organization to handle it for them, iirc. :rolleyes: Like a wholly-owned subsidiary. I think one reason may be all the jobs they can hand out. Patronage like politicians.

The NCAA used an independent "decision maker" once before. That was when dirty as hell Kansas and LSU basketball walked -- despite all the evidence in the world on hand. :rolleyes: bUt tHeRe wAs nOtHinG tHe nCaA cOuld dO, you see. Because Condi Rice's group (I believe it was) had made their decision. The NCAA's hands were tied.

So we know it has already been an epic fail to farm the decisions out. And we know it's an epic fail for the NCAA to handle it themselves.

They also want to put a cap on NIL paid through schools, which is to say, bring back the bag games. The bag game -- which is a non factor now without the NCAA -- is a necessity for the NCAA to justify its existence.

I was so certain we would beat Arkansas and was annoyed at my fellow Vol friends in our group chat that I made a horrible declaration thirty minutes before the game.

"There is no way we lose to Arkansas. Hell, if we lose I'll drink my own piss."

Never. Ever. Have I regretted a statement so much in my life. I've been hearing it from them all week. I've seen what happened to FSU... I won't let my foolishness spread bad juju onto UT. We are heading to Knoxville Saturday morning for the Florida game, but before we leave I'm going to get a solo cup... and give my all for Tennessee. This is gonna suck.
