Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Tbh, I'm not sure what we as a fanbase are supposed to believe? That it's all purely innocent and just a huge coincidence? Live ball fouls are NEVER called on teams playing us. Ever. They are called on them playing other teams and they are called on us...but never on them when playing us. It's essentially statistically impossible for the foul situation to have been this way for 2 year so...the only reasonable explanation is that multiple ref crews have been instructed to call games that way.

Sure doesn’t seem like it’s a coincidence. If we are frustrated, can you imagine how frustrated the team and coaches are? I’m sure Heup and Danny are sending this stuff to the league office with complaints every week, but nothing is being done about it. I said this the other day and I’ll say it again… If I was Heup on Saturday night, the first live ball penalty that he saw that was not called, I would get into the head ref face and continue to stay after him until he called a penalty on me for unsportsmanlike conduct. I would go all Remember The Titans on them.

One other thing: question remains why are we singled out like this? What did we do to continue to get this skewed officiating? Is it still because Heupel brought this program back too fast to prominence from the Pruitt scandal, so the NCAA and SEC are continuing to punish us in other ways other than the sanctions that were levied and agreed on? Doesn’t make sense.

This discussion on officiating is why I no longer get as upset with a loss or the obvious cheating as I once did for many years. When it is clearly permitted or even directed from the conference office, it is hard to get excited about the sport. The telling sign is that each year they come out with a point of emphasis on a specific action the officials will be watching. Why? All of the rules are to be observed and penalties called with the infractions. If it takes five hours to play a game, it takes five hours. If they want to fit the TV window, the players and coaches will be forced to quit cheating the rules by the school and conference admins. Bending the rules and permitting the infractions is what causes the whole sport to decline. Basketball has been the absolute worst with this forever, but now it has taken over football.

The general condition is not just incompetence, although there is a lot of that. It is intent. They keep trotting the same officials out there year after year and you can count on specific crews being assigned to promote the game results they want. They influence results. If your team is on the wrong side of that they have to beat both the officials and the opponents. That is hard to do, especially on the road.

Standing a few yards away and looking at an obvious infraction in the open field without the flag being thrown time after time tells all of us the truth of what is going on. Admit it or not, personal decision.

The PTB does not like defiant, hardy, independent, rebellious people, Tennesseans are all that as demonstrated by the 2000 tax revolt.

Is it a coincidence that our problems as a football power began around that time? 👽

Why should the NCAA have right to disapprove and stop an NIL deal. Who st the NCAA surrogate is going to have the details and amounts of every transaction, and are we supposed to believe that info won't make its way to favorites?

The crisis, such as their is, is all the back money the NCAA owes by means of negligence and mismanagement for a decade. There is no need to give the NCAA abundant no regulatory powers. That a whole separate issue they are smuggling in. NIL is going great.

Their obsession with setting caps is just avfancy way of saying re-instituting "bags," so the NCAA surrogate can go back to its crooked enforcement and deliberate non enforcement. imo.
They are grasping and it won't fly. They are losing their cushy jobs and their piece of the pie,. All this will be settled by the lawyers on a case by case basis as it is in the rest of the world. All parties will want their interest protected.
NCAA is the the dictator who was overthrown and won't accept it. They are Hitler in the bunker under the Reichstag.

I think Staley and Brazzell were this year's camp monsters that get hyped in camp and then you barely hear from them all year.

I think it takes time to adjust to this offense. Last year we thought Thornton would be great but it didn’t start to appear until late. This year he seems more comfortable but he’s also in his normal position now.

Also that bruh bought tickets for our game in his usual spot with the best view of signs, which were transferred to someone else, and someone was in the seats. And then the arm bands on national TV.

The fact that the NCAA was never busted SCar or even mentioned this episode which even causal viewers are familiar with from the national broadcast is sufficient reason to say the neither the NCAA (nor a surrogate for them) should EVER regulate enforcement again. For 2 years the NCAA stalled and covered up for Michigan, destroying the integrity of the playoffs and the sport.

And behold: NIL is running fine without the NCAA's rigging.

Michigan also may have hacked our computers. The NCAA and the Feds have completely covered up that HUGE infraction and violation of Federal law. Saban appears to think something like that was going on. Interestingly, he seemed to have an idea of how it was done.
The one area that the NCAA still hold some cards and they refuse to act. They award championships and control who gets their trophy. They can sanction member teams and it is well with in their rights, but they turn a blind eye.
It is only the players and the money that they no longer control. The commercial says, "NCAA .... losing power since 1984."

This. The NCAA selective enforcement has bitten them. UT was one of the first to say "stop, you are being obviously unfair, and now we can take you to court over it". Low and behold, once we were able to plead our case to an outside authority the NCAA unwittingly dug their own grave. The fact that Bama/UGA was never investigated, Michigan investigation drug out, UNC academic scandal was covered up, USCjr was never investigated in '22, etc...stunk to high heaven and now there is nothing they can do to stop anyone. Measured and fair enforcement across the board and building a rulebook that was based in common sense would have stopped all this.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely. They thought they were going to get away with it forever.

Saw someone else on X say, “Hearing some stuff that could really change things for this football team soon”

So, do you know anything regarding this or is this another fan that doesn’t know **** and wants attention
I know a guy who is a manager on X and he said Squirrel is going to be driving the equipment truck from now on.

I love the Tampa area and would love to live around Treasure Island. This could be catastrophic and make that almost impossible. It's terrible. There's an area there where you could park your car for the weekend, walk to Publix, a drug store, multiple great bars (VIP Mexican), and sit out on a massive beach outside of Sloppy Joes. Or, we would go to Caddys and watch fireworks. Now? What will be left?
Ok, enough. Florida sucks. WGWTFA. That is all.
