Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I know I talked about this yesterday, but I am going to ask again.

I have so many dear friends, including our best friends, and my daughter and son in law directly in the bullseye of this monster. If you've ever lived in the T-Bay area, this is the storm they have always been worried about.

None of them can, or will leave. My daughter is head of nursing staff at her facility, and two of our best friends are also staff, one at a Nursing home, and the other of the ICU at one of the St Pete hospitals.

We have over a hundred other dear friends in Pinellas County, many of them of advanced age...my nerves are shot...even if nobody is hurt, homes and livelihoods will be destroyed.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pray that this thing weakens.

Thanks in advance...

I've never said the officiating wasn't bad when we won. Heupel made a big deal of KY's OL being allowed to hold all game last season when we beat KY. And I never said anything was a "conspiracy." The constant use of the shaming and self-preening accusation "conspiracy" is a propagated and mimicked behavior. In usage it's roughly equivalent to people in the middle ages calling someone a witch. But now it's mostly on autopilot. It's not something that people who are actually engaged in thinking participate in.

By the way when the Knoxville media pretty much had to explain Heup's long deliberate silence, they completely dropped the ball by making reference to certain statistics. They should have looked at film and showed 10 examples.
Don't back down. Most people do and it is the reason we are in the shape we are now, and I ain't just talking about football. Reasonable people are told not to believe what the see and know to be too.
Last night I saw response by a government official when confronted with the completely botched response to Helene and the complaints by the residents affected. He said it was misinformation. He was basically saying don't believe the victims they are lying for political reasons.
Misinformation largely turns out to be true and any admission by misinformation police is ignored or buried on the back page.

How hard do you think you'd have to punch a grizzly bear to knock it out in 1 shot? What about a silverback gorilla?

You think someone throwing a punch a hard as Mike Tyson's hardest hit could do it or do you think humans are just physically incapable of hitting that hard?

Biggest issue is lack of depth at tackle. Think we all know that song by now. Secondarily, why is Heard so out of shape 5th week in to year? If his ankle is bad, sit him. DD is better option imo.

Now, onto the Gators.
Ol, DB and QB inexperience were the biggest reasons I thought that 8-4 was more possible than everybody else thought...well those issues plus the insane SEC parity.

IMO..a lot of pretty good SEC football teams are going to be going 9-3 or 8-4 from now on.

IMO..our biggest fixable issue is that our OL just falls apart on the road at really loud stadiums with jacked up crowds, it has often looked like two different groups of players because they get jumpy and discombobulated.

I love Josh Heupel...but that is the biggest thing that he and the staff need to figure out an answer to going forward. The times that it hasn't been an issue, like LSU 22, it was because the crowd never got into the game.

This could've been a reality show in the late 90's or early 2000's.

Northern Lights. Charged particles from the sun in the polar atmosphere. They are rarely seen this far south. During the War of Northern Aggression Robert E. Lee and his troops saw an unusually robust display of the Northern Lights the night before the battle of Fredericksburg, Lee took it as a good sign about the next day's battle.
My hometown. And I didn't know this, thanks for sharing.

The day I start believing the game is rigged by the officials is the day I stop watching College Sports. Period!!!

Except college baseball I will still watch it.
Do you remember that NBA ref that was caught shaving points for the Mafia awhile back? That stuff has been happening since the Christians played the Lions in the Colosseum. I have kin in the business so I know how it works (that's why I never gamble), I am fluent in Statistics, and I have a pretty good eye for stuff that is not on the up and up.
The stakes have never been higher, we live in the Golden Age of gambling and the money is huge.
Add to that the astronomical amount of money in TV and you have many powerful people who have high interest in the outcome of games. I am not a conspiracy theorist, I trust my eyes and the numbers. A lot of things in today's football does not fit normal distribution.
Everything proceeds to Normal, Entropy, and Equilibrium unless acted on by an outside force.

undergoing name change because it’s 2024 and you can be whoever you want to be. Also finally realized there’s another vol in ga. I will hereby go by Adam Sandler and will rotate my favorite images from his various movies for my avi.

I would have gone with Scuba Steve but apparently that was taken. And couldn’t decide between Sonny Koufax, Billy Madison, happy Gilmore, and Bobby Boucher.

Fielding suggestions for custom title…

The scum that do this crap have figured out a fundamental truth of human beings....a huge amount of people subconsciously WANT to be lied to...they want and need for the illusion to be maintained because their minds simply can not handle the REAL truth.

It is saddening and infuriating...but the older I get, the more of this 💩 I see..the more it gets confirmed to me.

It blows my mind that people are purposefully ignorant and gullible. And they hate you, and mock you for it.

The Emperor has no clothes....our world has truly become that fable.

You shouldn't pretend to be someone you're not.
