Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Isn't Forde the sock puppet that the NCAA used as a willing pawn to break their own NCAA rule about not commenting on investigations. This by funneling their illegal "hit piece"announcement through their thirsty mouth piece?

Seriously, doesn't Forde have more than enough to do in calling on the NCAA to make Michigan forfeit their crooked title? And deliver the goods on those Michigan computer crimes. And the SCar connection. How 2 consecutive playoffs were corrupted by Harbaugh and the integrity and honor of the game splattered with mud. I mean since he is a reporter, a big intellectual, and the conscience of the world.

Maybe look into those Chargers and bags at Bama under Saban also. Story of the century. Of course that would need courage. Trying to harm and defame a college kid is more his speed, I guess.

No need to apologize, I understand I'm the non intellectual one in this thread. I've been reminded numerous times by others.

Not mad at all. Have a wonderful day.
No, you were adding the baseball thingee as a sort of joke, I thought. As in, "Even that wouldn't stop me from watching." I related to both halves of what you said. How it would ruin it. And how, for your favorite sport, you might not be able to walk away even then. I thought is was thoughtul and funny.

From SI.com: The Tennessee attorney general carried Big Orange water by going to court and nuking the NCAA’s power to enforce rules on pay-for-play transactions for recruits. That effectively ended an investigation into Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Nico Iamaleava and his reported $8 million agreement to play for the Vols.

After a stunning upset loss to Arkansas, the question now is what bang Tennessee is getting for all those bucks
. Iamaleava led the Vols to just 14 points, none in the first half, and their last five possessions were all punts or turning the ball over on downs. Iamaleava passed for a season-low 156 yards and ranks 10th in efficiency in league games.

In all honesty didnt listen to entire PC, its hard to listen too. Only twang I can handle is Matt at Volquest, presents facts.

AtoZ is their source? 😅 He's doing a PC, on an opinion, based off AtoZ? Yikes.

Well, in all honesty. Sans '22, Tennesse'a the easy, ergo lazy pick. Instead of doing actual work, Forde and his ilk, Adams, et al are content to sit behind the keyboard and regurgitate same lines every year.

It really takes minimal effort to clown on UT.

So, in that regard he's right. But present the quote.
Pat Forde’s reputation has never recovered from the Schiano debacle. No one cares about him and Dan Wolken after the country saw how they were mouthpieces and propaganda machines for the administration. “I need your help spinning this”

He blames Tennessee fans for his downfall and hasn’t let go of that grudge. The reality is, no one cared about him before that. And they definitely don’t, now!

We don't. Look at the statistics ranker site that @Visidog linked.

Penalties called in home games against opponents in 2024 are ranked from #1 (being the home team who has the most penalties called against its opponents) to #134 (the home team with the fewest penalties called against its opponents).

We rank #132 of 134. Dead last in the SEC and pretty nearly dead last in the nation. 131 of 134 home teams have had more penalties called against their opponents at home than we have.

No, there's a misunderstanding. I guess you didn't look at the numbers. I've never figured out why you like to taunt on this subject.

You're misinterpreting the statistics again. The question at hand is where we rank. So look.

In penalties called on opponents this year (#1 being the most penalties called) we are #126 of 134. 125 teams have more flags thrown on opponents than we do. In the SEC we are dead last. It doesn't really matter that Auburn happens to have the most penalties called on opponents. That in no way disproves that we are dead last. It was with respect to our rank that Visidog was saying that our eyes weren't lying to us.

You're really reaching for straws. You know those teams don't share officiating crews with us.

And there it is.

Don't let the vast conspiracy theory that there can be no possible issue or systemic pattern with our officiating unsettle or shame you into objections like that. It resembles people shouting "witch" and "black magic" in the middle ages. And it is a learned and taught behavior and preoccupation. Anyway, @Visidog's post was simply pointing out statistics he has seen suggest there is something to the issue. I see no reason to try to shame the guy or anyone else into silence and dishonor for that.

The question arose when several people noticed no-call holding penalties at Arkansas. And then this post caused more questioning:

Surely you don't think that whatever the stat happens to be for Auburn (or for Oklahoma and Arkansas, which rank pretty high, too) disproves the claim in the X post?

Since 2022 the penalties, number and timing, have been obnoxious and practically statistically impossible. Ex: Last year's Alabama game, Alabama was averaging 8 penalties a game over a two year span and in our game they had one. The probability of that happening was .2%. And that is not an isolated example, last week a touchdown taken off the board by a late sketchy Ineligible receiver call.
Remember Referees are gamblers too and League Officials and TV execs don't like to gamble. There's a lot going on these days (and not just football) that is really fishy.

The story is that Billy Napier who is know to have ties to Hezbollah sent a steel box packed with explosives (thought to be fissionable material) to Josh Heupel"s office at the Tennessee Athletic Facility. A custodian saw the box outside Heup's door and thought it was trash and put it with the recyclables as we are locked in a battle in the Recycle Bowl with that team up north.
The custodian, who is reportedly the anonymous boy who was bullied for wearing a homemade Vols shirt to school on team colors day, will be honored along with the flyover team on Saturday.
I dont understand why it takes 48 hours for a bomb squad to disarm a box of dynamite. Further why we are evacuating an entire 300 foot radius. Dynamite isnt THAT big a dealIMG_5289.gif

As many here my background in explosives is vast. One would think the bomb squad could quickly resolve said issues.IMG_5288.gif

hope every one is safe

Jack, first I apologize for being rude yesterday.

I have always contended that the "backstory" is not the issue. Everything is in plain view right on the surface. I mean the calls and no-calls that are literally on video. That is the story and the evidence that needs to be treated. Statistics dodge the primary evidence -- that is, what comes to sight. And there is the obvious problem with the statistics that it is not necessarily the case that in a justly officiated game each team will have the identical number of penalties and penalty yardage. One team may commit more fouls. And more decisive fouls. Statistics seem neutral because they are numbers. That doesn't make them objective in the adequate sense. And they are easy: someone has counted them up for us (the number of calls). But not the no-calls. And the totals ignore context. Some no-calls can dramatically change a game and go unrecorded.

It's interesting to imagine what a discussion about what to watch for would include and not include and how the agenda was determined and by whom. We know Heup called attention all year to us being held, but from the looks of things it never became a trend to look out for.
People are so trusting. I trust none of these big, money machines, especially when enormous amount $ spent wagering. We've been getting the shaft from officials for years. Hell, they've changed rules after the fact on plays they've botched.

It was on full display last year when we started the season really getting pressure on the qb. Then all of a sudden we couldn't, with nary a holding call. We've had two conference games this year and I don't think we've had one hold called against our opponents. I guess they're just perfect against probably the strongest unit on this team.

Do you have children? I'll bet they always do exactly what you tell them to, right? What specifically did the staff do wrong or is it all generalities? How would you have prepared the team?
Personally I saw nothing wrong schematically but the coaches don't do the blocking.
It’s literally their job to get the team ready to play.
They didn’t.

Kentucky finished the season giving up 19.2 ppg (11th in country)…
Bama finished 18 and some change ppg (9th). We put up almost 100 between those 2 games.

LSU 22.5 (34th), Missouri 25.2 (56th)

At least bring facts brother
Umm, did you know that your “brother “ is very trollish? Doesn’t take after you at all…1/2 brother , step brother or adopted? 😇

Maybe they aren’t 17. Seems to me. …that I heard somewhere…about a 17 year old WR in the SEC who is awesome. Just sayin…
I’ll bet you wouldn’t be hearing about him if played for Tennessee.
You’d be hearing people ask why he’s not playing and the usual excuses, he doesn’t block well or hasn’t mastered the offense

Is that misinformation or disinformation? We seem to hear both terms at the same time but no one seems to know the difference. The thing you need to avoid is counter misdisinformation which can lead to double secret probation.

The harping about officials isn't NEARLY as bad when Tennessee wins, that's all I'm trying to say. Occasionally no harping at all.

Some individuals complain that the referee rigs the coin flip before the game.🤣🤣🤣. BTW my neighbor is from Florida and he's coming over to watch the game at my house. Can't wait til he starts crying and complaining about the game.
I haven't heard the coin flip thingee. 😂

Serve the guy gator sausage on a bun for lunch. Tell him it's a hot dog.
