Yep, at this point I don't have the confidence with the way we are playing--- I think we could be looking at 7-5 and maybe BEST CASE SCENARIO 8-4... How hard is this to understand... starting to worry about ya kid.

Nico has regressed, but the Oline is the main issue, Heard is making too much money for half-ass, inconsistent play, no matter the reason.

This veteran Oline sucks in year 4, Oline coach needs to be gone and replaced. Very disappointed in the fact that we have so much talent on this roster to have to go to OT to beat a bad FL team at home, and yes, we beat ourselves almost every series, but FL also made horrible decisions that caused them to lose.

Play calling last night, and last week, was very bad and very predictable. It's gotten worse as the season has progressed.

Nico looked good against bad competition, but we are seeing a RS Freshman now and for the remainder... he will get better. The Oline MUST get better.

Defense saved our tails and won the game. Boo and others stepped up.

We are in big trouble if Pili is out for extended time or the season. Big trouble.

Absolutely no reason Matthews should not be out there.

We are no where near a playoff team.

We will get hammered by AL this coming weekend and quite possibly will end up 7-5 / 8-4 best scenario. Quite a difference to everyone and the media lauding us and propping us up the first few games of the season.

It is what it is unfortunately. Empty the NIL bank on Oline in the offseason, get two LB's, and we should be good to go next year.

Hoping this staff has not maxed itself out now that folks have figured out how to defend our offense.

Praying we can keep who we have committed until signing day with the amount of potential L's coming our way unless things drastically change.

Vandy and KY are going to be dogfights and AL/GA are just L's...

We did have some good series, but we tended to run up the middle on 1st and 2nd, find ourselves with 3rd and long, and then didn't do much.

Where were the shuttle passes, slants, etc we had in the first few games? FL was mixing up the offense and we were very predictable. We have the weapons to continue to mix it up. Guess our Oline play caused us to go so conservative, that with Nico not being able to hardly complete a pass.

McCoy has been a great player, media should give him so love and ask him a couple questions. Also this is the first time I've ever heard JPjr voice. Glad he's getting some media work before the NFL

He sounds different than what I would've imagined. McCoy is becoming my favorite defender not named Pearce/Pili. He may end up being one of the best DBs ever to wear orange & white

Have you watched them? They almost lost to usc at home and did lose to Vandy. You're just focusing on our deficiencies without comparing them to their deficiencies.

And neyland is going to be rocking. Bama is very beatable. I don't know that anyone is calling that game a win, but the defeatist attitude is definitely not warranted.

That’s one of the big differences between this decade (so far) and last - the ability to stop teams on 3rd or 4th and short on a somewhat regular basis. I had become conditioned by the 2010s to assume if the other team was within 2 yards of a first down, it was basically a given they’d get it. The speed we now have on defense is light years better. That’s what led Napier to kick the extra point on that last TD versus go for two.

The two biggest indictments thus far onnthis regime:

1- situation with the OL, lack of development has to be addressed.

the line we saw in OT drive, is line we saw versus NC State, and OK.

Is it effort? Is it talent? Is it scheme? Those are all on the coaches.

2- WR separation.

Thornton and Squirrel are consistently the only open WR's, that can make hand or contested catches. Also, seem to be only 'open' receivers.

The plan this game was so much better. We do better when we distribute the ball. Saw Davis and Notre Dame dude getting involved. Saw Sampson targeted for passes. Even saw Nico rolling left and right.

Offense took a step in that regard. It is evolving.

Meanwhile, if our WR's arent getting separation. Then what're we doing? Doesnt do us any good to have Braylon Staley and Mike Matthews ride the pine.

Where is their development? Get them some touches. Scheme something up. We HAVE to get them involved to break a big TD to best Bama.

I know you do not go to the games so I will give you a pass. They are getting separation. Four guys open on bombs last night. On Nico's interception, he had Samp with no one near him on a check down. If you are at the game where you can see the entire field, guys are open everywhere. The OL is the issue which has now got Nico in panic mode even at times he shouldn't be. The wideouts are the least of the problem outside of Sampson who is not any kind of problem at all.

I’m hoping our offensive issues match early 2021, when Hendon was new and we couldn’t hit deep shots or play with any consistency before we fixed it and started torching teams.

I just don’t think the sky is falling. We never beat Florida, we just did. Arkansas is frustrating but we are 5-1 heading to a home game with bama, who’s lost to vandy….. Vanderbilt……. And just went to the wire with South Carolina at home. College football is just different these days.

We are the offense clicking again away from playoff contention.

We had a VN copperhead post before the UF game again. @TN-POSSUM cry-babied around claiming the wasn't a "true" VN copperhead, because he had a few posts already. However, it seemed to be just enough juice to push the Vols to a win over Florida.

The Vols remain undefeated when a VolNation member who has never posted, or posted very little, makes a comment in here.

We're gonna need someone to step up and make their first post to insure a win over Bama!
