Speakers have certainly amplified the crowd before. I mean you would have to go through quite a hassle to guarantee for instance that the band microphone NEVER picks up crowd noise.The speakers in the stadium amplify the announcer, refs, band, and music just so you can hear them at all. So he’s right about amplification but he’s implying that the fans noise is also being amplified. They’d have to ask him directly if he thinks the fan noise is amped through the speakers and see if he squirms.
The key ingredient ole dipshit seems to be missing here is that the speakers turn off when the opposing offense breaks the huddle, every single time.
If you sit anywhere near those speakers, which I have many times, you know this. You can hear them cut out, without fail, every single time the offense breaks the huddle.
If you're gonna complain about noise from the speaker BEFORE the offense breaks the huddle, that is peak silliness. Might as well claim the PA announcer is saying "third down" too loud.
