Recruiting Football Talk VIII

The speakers in the stadium amplify the announcer, refs, band, and music just so you can hear them at all. So he’s right about amplification but he’s implying that the fans noise is also being amplified. They’d have to ask him directly if he thinks the fan noise is amped through the speakers and see if he squirms.
Speakers have certainly amplified the crowd before. I mean you would have to go through quite a hassle to guarantee for instance that the band microphone NEVER picks up crowd noise.

The key ingredient ole dipshit seems to be missing here is that the speakers turn off when the opposing offense breaks the huddle, every single time.

If you sit anywhere near those speakers, which I have many times, you know this. You can hear them cut out, without fail, every single time the offense breaks the huddle.

If you're gonna complain about noise from the speaker BEFORE the offense breaks the huddle, that is peak silliness. Might as well claim the PA announcer is saying "third down" too loud.

So, how do you hear the official and the PA announcer in any other stadium? Do you just not hear them in Bryant Denny Stadium? I know, it's rhetorical.

I just don't understand what he thinks they do at other places.
How do they play their precious Dixieland Delight at the start of the 4th qtr?

What an f’ing liar. Of course he was using it as an excuse. Of course it was meant to be derogatory towards Tennessee. Why else say it?

I think it’s awesome. Piss off the fans and give them something to prove each game now. Neyland about to be even more bonkers if that’s possible…..especially the next time Bama comes to town. That quote will be everywhere.

the amplified noise guy needs to be destroyed in the court of public opinion until his boss whoever runs his show actually penalizes him for making false statements on air. That kind of stuff is what creates long term narratives that can hurt schools and I don’t know why we as a society let our media lie like that. Biases in media is a defining quality (if not downright feature) of the world we live in today and it’s eating at the fabric of everything we hold dear

**** infuriates me. We deserve better. We deserve the truth regardless if we like it or not. If you can just say any little lie and then say “it was taken out of context” then what’s the point of being a journalist? Go into marketing for Christ’s sake
We have libel laws and such. We should be VERY careful, asking for some nameless, faceless thing to control our media.

Maybe we should instead push for better education and start teaching critical thinking. The root of our problem isn't the media. The bigger problem is that we gave our gov't control of educating our kids, and they are 'educating' our kids to the point of being stupid enough to be controlled.

But I partially, almost agree. We need to make it illegal for all of our media to be owned by just a couple of mega-corps with agendas. I believe we can thank Bill Clinton for that law repeal, thus a lot of what we have right now.

Eh, the guy's butt-hurt wrote a check in real time and he's trying to walk it back after the fact. The good thing about that is that the walking back always looks even worse than the signature on the check did. It's funny to watch people who are too small to just say, "Yah, my bad. That was dumb. Happens to all of us and I've been in the club before Saturday."

Really, refusing to man up on it after the fact just shows a lack of self-confidence and character.

Moron Alert: What is coming out of the speakers on the field is the band and they are pointed towards the crowd. If we were trying create more noise on the field why would we point the speakers towards the crowd? Besides those speakers are too small, when the crowd is really rocking I can't hear the band (or anything else) and I sit 21 rows from the field.

The band doesnt play over the speakers, the DJ plays over the speakers.
