Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Majors redshirted Chuck Webb and Carl Pickens in 1988. The year we started out 0-6. 1989 was the beginning of the run through the 1990s and early 2000s. Hindsight being 20-20. Should have played both of them as true freshmen.
You are right. I was wrong.

'89 was Pickens first (R-Fr) year to play and the year Pickens played both ways and returned kickoffs. He was the Defensive MVP in the Cotton Bowl. He started playing DB in the 8th game of that season. (Not the 6th of '88.)

I hoped that Seldon would get a lot of snaps this year so he'd be ready to go next year. . . kinda liked Nico last year. I thought he could learn a lot by playing this year. Those injuries hurt more than one way.
Yes, he needed to learn....... His pass protection is and was horrible.

The public only feasted if he majority of the money was on the road favorites.

You're basically saying the road favorites will regress to the Vegas historical average of covering 50% of the time. But the trend where teams don't cover after losing to Detroit is also a trend that should be 50% to match the Vegas historical average.

Nor do properly capitalized books even focus that much on such things.

Their focus is on balancing the ledgers and drinking the juice.
