Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I have something for Titans fans. Earlier today I watched the old 1989 game vs Ole Miss when Chuck Webb set UT's single game rushing record. It was a copy of a pay-for-view broadcast with Kesling paired with Archie Manning as analyst, which was kinda fun. You may be surprised at the sight of the sideline reporter.

Shoulda hired him instead of Kesling. 🫤

I think he was about 22 😂

I hear a lot of people say that about Keith. Anyway, this broadcast was 9 years before John Ward retired. Ward did the radio broadcast of the game. I guess that is why Kesling was on the pay-for-view broadcast. He did a decent job.

Archie Manning was a class act. The only time he was asked about playing Tennessee he talked about how loud Neyland was the year he lost in Knoxville. No mention of wrecking our season in '69. He loved Webb setting the rushing record. He didn't find it necessary to mention that he held the SEC records for passing yards and total offense in a game. He knew a lot about the guys on their team.

The Braves had plenty of time to get a deal done b4 it ever came to that.

Thinking it's the agents fault sounds good though
AA was being too frugal, but Freddie's agent failed to deliver the Braves' final offer, which it was suggested Freddie would have taken.

Dodgers probably paid off the agent.

Hindsight is 20/20 but after the Oregon ruling wouldn't the 13 players on the field still be ball game because time was supposed to run off the clock during the play

Then we were obviously on the wrong side of the NC game and they change d the rule to make it like the NFL. Which a 10 second runoff should have always been a thing
