Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Honestly if I were the gm…I’d go after Mike trout..he’s played baseball the right way standing by the team that drafted him and they’ve made no moves to position themselves getting him a World Series and I feel bad for him he’s a sitting duck there.he was the opposite of Bryce Harper when he came into the league…Bryce has calmed down a lot but factoring in all his set back injuries Mike trout is that one guy I really want to win a World Series…other players of Soto’s caliber has a ego problem.
I'd love to see Trout get a ring, he's one of the most solid players ever, but the ROI on him now is soooo shaky because you can't keep him on the field. It's too bad, he's such a good guy.

You know.. Tennessee v Kentucky has a whole new meaning for me.

My mother died 2 years ago right before the Florida game. She graduated from Tennessee in 1971. My parents got married in 1972. My dad, also a Tennessee alumnus, graduated in 1970. My aunt and uncle also graduated from Tennessee. I graduated from Tennessee in 1998 (spring, one semester too early!).

In October 2022 we had my mother's memorial at a bar here in Charlotte and we had friends and family, probably 30ish people, get together to celebrate my mother's life.

What better way to do it than watch Tennessee beat the crap out of Kentucky in those black uniforms? I don't think I can really explain what it meant to have everyone there that travelled in for this to watch this game and have a memorial at the same time.

Funnier yet, no one... No one.. Thought it strange to memorialize her while watching a Tennessee game. Which is all you need to know, to know what Tennessee meant to her.

I can safely say that my mom, the reason I'm as big a fan of Tennessee I am, had to be extremely proud of the Vols that night, and as she was of the the party we had to celebrate her life.

There woruld have been nothing she'd of liked better than to have been there with all of us (and she was) watching Tennessee football win that night.

We all talk about all the reasons we cherish this university. Most of us are alumni, or grew up on it, or both. We pass that on to our kids, and that's what makes the SEC, and Tennessee so special. My kids want to go to Tennessee. I love that.

I'll never forget that night. We were fortunate to have so many friends and family in attendance to honor her life and continue our family tradition that involves Tennessee football.

So as we get ready for this weekend's game, just remember, there is more to it than just wins and losses.

But wins are a lot more fun... and I'll never look at the Kentucky game the same way because of that night.

So...Go Big Orange. Love ya mom. Beat Kentucky.🍊

I took BYU. I couldn't figure out why UCF was favored. Almost wonder why they're favored over Arizona this week.
Yeah especially with their new qbs playing. Those guys literally can’t throw the ball. The first one that played last week threw some of the worst interceptions I’ve seen. Id stay away from that game though. Arizona has lost some games it probably shouldn’t have.

Very unfortunate….i wouldn’t care even if it was like in a Albert P kinda deal ya know…he had clutch moments as a DH for us

Already got plenty of players on IL 100 games a year, don't need to add another one..

He’s a lethal bat…I’d slide him in the DH spot and let Ohtani pitch…if someone from the outfield leaves then you can let Ohtani play outfield adding another lethal bat to the lineup….sounds crazy but Ohtani can play outfield

This is what it's all about right here 🧡

There is more to it than just wins and losses indeed...

May wildcat blood be spilt in her honor Saturday 😌

During the Georgia v Texas game, Georgia lost headset communication which forced Texas to have to give up their's.

Y'all realize how much of an advantage it would be to prepare your team for no headsets and mid-game or critical-juncture of a game you "lose connection" with headsets, forcing the opponent into a scenario where they may be totally unprepared? Diabolical
Anybody with direct connections to CH?

No one is talking about this, but this could be the next cheating scandal in college football. I have heard rumors that some teams have hacked opposing teams helmet communications. If so, this could be big.

Read the article: I wonder what happened in the Texas A&M - Arkansas game
I knew this would happen as soon as it came out that helmet communication would be allowed starting this year.

What was really impressive Lady Vols were up by 65 points and still diving on the floor for loose balls.

Obviously no effort will get you riding the pine in CKC's tenure..
Complete turnaround from the last coach. I bet they know how to play fundamental basketball under CKC, which will be a massive change from the last 2 HCs.
