Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Heard about this the other day. How can you have a coms system that is not encrypted? It makes no sense. I'll bet Connor Stallions is on the board of GSC.
When you decide to become a journalist, you pretty much HAVE to know that writing will be a huge skill in your portfolio. Why do so many of them suck so badly?

Why does the ball wear a helmet? Why am I yet to see one of these helmets? Did the ball just now start wearing helmets so that coaches and communicate with players? If so, what is the connection between balls wearing helmets, and coaches being able to communicate with one player on each side of said helmet?

Does the play clock get a helmet too? If so, only until 15 seconds before snap?

I saw a trophy once that was football helmet with a football in it. With all this CTE business you can't be too careful.

Halfway through the season and here is what I have learned about our team.

Offense

1) Arkansas is the only team that was able to generate pressure consistently with their front 4. That was on the road so perhaps communication issues from crowd noise. Oklahoma also made plays with their DL but mostly it was LB and Secondary blitzes that caused the issues.
2) Florida was the most challenging game we had at home. They brought the house on defense and just wore out in second half. They had more tackles for loss than anyone. If we pick up the blitz better, we can stop that noise. Florida had an excellent gameplan for that game, but our talent and opportunistic red zone offense won out late.
3) Huge adjustments made for Bama. Again, only their LB's made plays behind our LOS but our OL was much better than the prior week and handled the blitz better. Nico had an excellent 2nd half.
4) If Nico makes a Clausen/Manning progression, we will be a very good team the second half of 2024.
5) We turn the ball over too much and that is where Nico can improve the most.
6) Our tackles need to improve discipline although most of the holding calls against them have been questionable.

Defense:

1) No one can run on us. The best was Florida, and they committed to it with 40 attempts. Even still, they could not run on us inside the 20 which is the mark of championship teams.
2) We have the most disruptive defense in the SEC with our front 4. Ole miss has slightly better stats, but they have played weaker competition (3 SEC games against the 3 worst offensive teams SC, Ken, Okla) and they blitz way more.
3) We have taken the ball away a lot (except Arkansas ugh). 7 takeaways against Okla, Bama, and FL. Ironically, Arkansas is the team we played that turns it over the most (13) but didn't against us.
4) Texas is the only team statistically better than us, but they have only played one decent offense this year! That was Georgia and they only rank 8th in the SEC in offense. Their other three games are against the 3 of the 4 worst offensive teams in the SEC (Okla, Vandy, SC).
5) If I have one criticism of the DL, it's the penalties for offsides.

We're obviously a good team. Nico's improvement will determine our ceiling. Nothing new but thought I'd share. Ok, signing off till post game.

Each player has a helmet. Some of them have two way radios. They communicate with coaches with the radios. Each team has a ball, the ball has no radio, it does not communicate with coaches.

Good summary. We are 1 healthy OT and a handful of missed plays away from being undoubtedly the best team in the country. The ingredients are there. The consistency has not.

I expect progress these next 2 games.

We need to beat UGA, but winning on the road is very hard in this conference and especially this year.

Saw that, why is that newsworthy? How do you socially meet a 24 yo when you're 72? What the absolute hell do you have in common with girl$ that age? What do you talk about?

If its true love, good on you, mate.
He has money….. She is hot… that is what both of them want.

What a beautiful morning to be in the woods. Took today off to take my boy hunting, ruts in high gear.
You're lucky to have survived.

I read on TWRA site that attacks on hunters from invisible Copperhead ninja asasins is on the rise by 220% so far in 2024, up from eleventy in 23.

Bite marks have been said to be head to toe on victims.

Have fun bru, enjoy every minute.
