Recruiting Football Talk VIII

It’s an opinion. What could’ve been traded away that didn’t make this squad worse? Gutting the best prospects on the farm nets you (maybe) a bat or two at best…imo. All to get into the postseason and praying for a miraculous repeat of 2021. AA is astute and decided to skip a participation trophy. Second guessing himself only for not trading Fried for Major League ready prospects next season. But understandable since the second half had them 6 games back before this implosion. Changes will be made but it would require a brain injury for that to include the GM or manager.
i didn't say the GM or manager. i said changes need to be made. they need bp arms and bats.

Eh…

Hate to agree with BigOrangeTrain

But…

2024
- lost Aaron Scott
- lost Ify Obidegwu
- lost Cali Bates
- lost Demello Jones
- lost Sensenbaugh
- lost Selma’s Bridges
- SHEESH LOL

2023
- lost Tyler Scott
- Jakeem Jackson
- Rod Pleasant
- Aaron Williams
- Sylsveter Smith flipped
2023 was an “break even” class because we did get Gibson and Matthew’s and Slaughter

2022
- Will Johnson
….

Look. He has to do better. A LOT better.
Martinez. 2024 was a bloodbath in his 3rd recruiting year… I mean all the other coaches all are flourishing.
Defensive backfield looks pretty loaded. Boo Carter not a win?

Just in case. Yeah all that. And what was going to be utilized to land them? Beginning of season, the bullpen was a strength. That’s always a fluid situation for every franchise. One season after a historic offensive performance, I don’t recommend fires…just some savvy evaluations.

With the Dodgers officially losing River Ryan to a UCL injury…. Do you all think the pitch clock is causing this increase in injuries to pitchers? The players union seems to feel that way.

This team's chemistry sucks.

Not a fan of Albies, and the 'big bats'. That's really the issue.

“Will be” this season. And Gibson right now with Matthews bringing it. I get excited thinking about new minds coaching, but Martinez is doing way better than Little’s letting on.
I think the program is recruiting better as a whole. People can say 'win'. Yes, agreed.

Huepel has shown he is going to do what he does. Doubt Garner or Martinez change either.

Dont need Meta AI to tell me we have upgraded talent wise, bigly.

My issue is they keep recycling the same players. How many time does Rosiario and Duvall need to show they aren't pro level any more before you move on from them? Same with Luke Jackson. Get new blood stop recycling the old blood thinking getting the band back together will recreate 21magic

Do you not realize the situation that Martinez inherited when he arrived? He had to turn that entire DB roster around. Pass defense can take a while to build to especially when it's from the ground up. His results will start to show this season. Its called coaching lol. People act like things are supposed to happen overnight. Defense is not offense. Completely different breed
Same situation every other UT defensive coach inherited.
