For all the issues many of you have with specific positional concerns, recruiting, coaching etc... Last night's game really only boils down to a few plays in the first half.
And the line of demarcation was Thornton's drop, followed by the false start and punt. We had all the momentum, and I believe if we got that first down, kept that drive going... Well, if nothing else, UGA doesn't get the ball with momentum swinging in their direction... And maybe takes a possession away from them in the first half, limiting their scoring opportunities. Instead, they score 14 points after that.
Everything after that sequence... Penalties, mistakes... Etc... But that's where the game turned.
So what do I take away from last night? When you have an opportunity to make a play, make it. And fix the mistakes. We're perfectly capable of playing with that team when we played clean.
You do have to credit UGA. They were clearly prepared, corrected many of the issues they were having and made better adjustments than we did. But they were on their heels prior to that sequence.... And that was an opportunity we missed, probably the biggest one of the game, because of what happened after.
