Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Even with all the flaws in the current playoff system - it is so much more fun this time of year. The best part is watching the analysts and experts stumbling around finding excuses for their dumb narratives and predictions. LMAO all day.

Expand it to 16 teams so there is no bye and watch what happens. In the current format giving a bye to a Boise or an ACC/Big 12 school is ridiculous.

FWIW - the Vol programs are bigger than any one player. The angst about Sanders should end. I see a lot of posters selling their fears and narratives knowing that the only person's opinion that matters is Heup's. If Heup feels a need to change the position coach, he will. Look at his record here after having worked his way through a difficult situation for the program to the doorstep of the playoffs. There are things that can be improved - he knows that.

I hope Sanders does come because he is a good player, but f he does not see the value of wearing Orange I do not want him here. Give the spot to a guy with upside who does. NIL and the portal have changed how the game is recruited and played. We will be fine.

We took our foot off the gas offensively in the 2nd half at Norman. Heck, we didn't just take our foot off the gas, we applied the emergency brakes. Our offense hasn't performed even at first half OU levels since. I'm not trying to get into a debate about whether that was the best strategy to win that game. I'm just saying that there is a notable difference in the before that halftime and after.
What was the reason that we got conservative with play calling at Oklahoma?

UT - 20
Kentucky - 17

With 5 seconds left, Phil Ingram handled a poor snap and Alan Duncan kicked a 25 yrd field goal, to give the Vols a 20-17 victory in Lexington. The win assured the Vols of a Bluebonnet Bowl bid. With Jimmy Streater out with a knee injury, Jeff Olszewski filled in admirably. His main job was handing the ball off to Hubert Simpson. Simpson had a school record 35 carries for 181 yrds.

Not going to lie - this Vandy game has me nervous
If we don’t throttle them, we don’t deserve it. Makes it easier on the mind.

My hope is that we finally found something on offense and our defense starts dominating like earlier in the year. Obviously, good teams found a way to exploit us so we need to adjust

I think getting out of there with a 3 to 7 point win will be fine. Winning there by 3 hasn’t hurt Texas.

I’m thinking a 21-17 type game

I bet they are considering it was a 2 point loss at Alabubba. That Oklahoma loss is going to kill their ranking. Should drop atleast 6-8 spots maybe more.
Heather Dinich I believe has Bama as the first team out. She’s usually almost right on. I would not put it past them to make sure Bama has a shot to get in. C’mon Auburn. Bury them.
