He was never going to win it anyway because Jeanty exists. But he should absolutely be a consensus All-American. He's third nationally for rushing TDs and second among all RBs.

boise state, iowa, and north carolina play some of the toughest opponents week in and week out. Georgia Southern and Air Force are formidable foes. Don't even forget that North Carolina has to go through the ACC gauntlet every year... Boston College, Wake Forest.... VIRGINIA! These teams show that their runningback play can elevate them to a great record (UNC's 6-5, for example). Hell, Iowa at 7-4 *could* get a playoff berth the way their runningback puts the team on his back...

Our running backs get zero respect because everyone is under the impression they are putting up numbers spread out with light boxes.

Nobody but us knows that we've been running 12 personnel all year against the same boxes everyone else plays against.

Interesting but doesn't tell much other than which teams have RBs and QBs that run hard or are good at slipping tackles. Also, having to break so many tackles can sometimes be a sign of bad OL play. Sampson breaks tackles because of a combination of factors: our offensive spacing along with good run blocking puts defenders in bad positions to get more than a hand on him and also causes second and third level defenders to come from further away and at bad angles to try to tackle a guy who is very fast, runs hard, is strong for his size, can juke/spin/bounce off tacklers/push the pile and has elite vision/acceleration and patience to let the play develop.

Give me gaping holes or a RB who can make the right reads and cuts to gain chunks of yardage and TDs while barely getting touched over a run game where the back has to break 2-3 tackles just to pick up a few yards or get back to the line of scrimmage, like several of the programs on that chart.

Huh? Read my post and the one I quoted again. I was replying to a comment saying that Kirby is bringing the kid back because he is more worried about playing GT than he was about UT or Ole Miss.

My point was that he probably is bringing back the kid now to get him ready to contribute in post season play and was confident the last few weeks that UGA would make the playoffs (as he should have been with only having one loss prior to OM)....not the ridiculous notion that he is bringing him back because of being worried about GT over UT and OM.
