Recruiting Football Talk VIII

This is true. Tech still had plenty of opportunities to win that game. The big call to me was the targeting on the fumble but hard to know what targeting is anymore.
GA targets and PI's on every play. Not technically but the launch head first & contact receivers every play so that it makes it harder for the refs to call. Kirby's constant whining makes it even harder. Until a crew calls a bunch of those and flags Kirby for acting like a clown to the point where it costs GA a game, they will keep doing it. Why not? It gives them an inherent advantage.

Funny how they didn’t suck much at all the entire game until last half of 4th quarter. Full conspiracy theory…did SEC and ACC make a deal that if Georgia needed help then they get it, and if Clemson needs help against SC with SEC crew, then they get it? Clemson has to win to stay in the mix for a spot.
If you watched the game, GT was down to freakin walkons across the secondary. Absolutely brutal.

Then Beck went full "good Beck".

Talent disparities do usually show up. It wasn't even that prevalent towards the end...but GT's OT playcalling was AWFUL too. Just straight dropback vs a face full of UGA rushers. All they had to do was roll King out and give him the option a time or two and they win walking it off 🤦🤦🤦

One hidden side effect of last night's game is both the long game UGA had to go through...increasing the chances they come into Atlanta knicked up.

And that kind of game will lower the image of UGA in the committee's mind. Even if they don't drop this week, which I don't expect (though they should imo by 1 spot), but even a close loss to TEX now I think really does result in a small drop...and we're playing in Neyland in late December.

UGA is beating Texas.

They want UGA in as well.

Georgia has played iffy football all year except for when the Vols came to town, they brought their A game. 😡
And Texas.

They show up and show out when they need to.

Crazy how they sleepwalk through other games though. They could easily lose a 1st rd game to a scrub.

Take either Carter , boo or Arion , tell em go get pavia every down … he makes a pass downfield so be it … don’t let him beat us with his legs … wonder how the stands are looking ? Lotta orange ???

Think we can all agree, if the league has rigged games to get more teams into the playoffs in order to make $$$ (do the office get a cut? I have no idea) then they've done a fantastically awful job at it. Should be a 4-team league, bare minimum. More like 5.

"let" Ole Miss lose to UF

"let" tamu lose to Auburn

"let" Bama get ran through by OU

Then let GT beat UGA if not for a last minute fumble by King.

They're truly awful at this rigging shiz, especially given they have the most talented teams in the country to rig it for 😅
Sometimes teams over come bad officiating or have things they can’t control; Dart turning into an INT machine. I also think it has more to do than just the league but also Vegas

Just watch the final couple drives of regulation. GT gets a stop on 4th down but gets a terrible PI called on them, the clear targeting that doesn’t get called even after reviewing the play, GT gets a DPI when the WR literally ran into him, initiated contact and grabbed him, the 2 holds on back to back plays where an Uga player almost ripped off the linemen’s helmet, Uga ran a pick play for their final TD. Uga ran an illegal formation in OT and also a pick play. That’s just what I caught in the final minutes watching live

And I had money on Uga🤣

The key to today's game is whether the Vols can get to Pavia with 4.
Our 4 rush hasn't been great at times, but think it just needs to be decent and is vs a Vandy OL...

But I agree we need to keep a spy. More valuable. If Pavia somehow beats us with just his arm, so be it.

Or we could become imaginative and unpredictable and aggressive and keep him off balance trying to figure out where it's coming from next but alas.
