Tennessee is ranked higher than 3 loss UGA, PSU (assuming loss) Indiana and SMUNightmare scenario coming into play….. Say TAMU beats Texas tonight and then wins next week against UGA. Clemson beats SMU in ACC championship…. You now have 2 conference champs at 10-3. SMU, UGA would be in the playoff, I don’t think Clemson or TAMU get in with 4 losses. Now you have a ton of 2 loss teams after the other bids. So you have..
5 auto bids.
ND 1 loss
Indiana 1 loss
PSU/Oregon loser
UGA
SMU…
That leaves 2 spots for 4 2 loss teams
Tennessee, Texas, Miami, OSU.
Scary proposition here
Indiana is ranked below Tennessee. They won’t jump us. I think Notre Dame will be the 5-seed. If SMU loses in the ACC ship, they will be out. UGA is pretty much in no matter what, they’re just playing for seeding. If the win the SEC ship, they get a bye, if they don’t, they’re likely in the #10-12 spots.Nightmare scenario coming into play….. Say TAMU beats Texas tonight and then wins next week against UGA. I know they aren’t hosting. Just making a comment at how laughable that would have been the way it was looking a couple weeks back.Indiana isn’t going to be hosting. Resume not good enough and the stadium is too small compared to other contenders.
They’ll be playing in Knoxville or another SEC school, IMO.
Man you just never know at this point. They already said they won’t penalize championship game losers, in your scenario they do SMU and don’t UGA…Indiana is ranked below Tennessee. We are in comfortably. Won in style today too. Stop.Man you just never know at this point. They already said they won’t penalize championship game losers, in your scenario they do SMU and don’t UGA…
Personally I think we should be in but there’s a scenario where they have to pick UT over other big schools

I tried to explain to my millennial son (who was trashing boomers at that moment) that the big advantage of age was simply context. We've seen things before. We certainly aren't always right, experience doesn't make you infallible, but experience does give you the bigger picture. It's rarely as good as you hope or as bad as you fear. Two weeks ago, erbody was scared UT would go 10-2 and be left out of the CFP…..
Now, Vols are probably hosting a game.
Funny how things don’t always go “chalk”
Uga drops below us, clemsux and a&m will be top 4 seeds. We will be the 6 or 7 seed. Nd will probably get the 5 seed.Nightmare scenario coming into play….. The CFP chairman needs to do the right thing and ban tOSU from the playoffs for pepper spraying Michigan's student athletes.I don't think there is any way they would keep OSU in the top 8 after dropping a game as a three TD favorite.
They need to worry about making the tournament at all.
A bigger concern is who we end up playing in Neyland. You are going to have slaw like Indiana in those bottom four seeds. Then you will have 1 or 2 extremely talented teams like Bama or Ohio State or Miami.
