Recruiting Football Talk VIII

How many in here appreciate a complimentary hot breakfast at a hotel?

I had breakfast this morning at a Drury in Illinois and it was surprisingly fantastic.

I’ve had breakfasts at other chains that were subpar.
Drury is the chain that we look for when booking hotels. With 4 kids, they offer suites, but they also offer happy hour and a good breakfast.

We stayed at a Drury in downtown Pittsburgh for the UT game. It was an old bank building. My dad traveled in the corporate world for years, staying at hotels. He just recently mentioned how that Drury in Pittsburgh was a nice hotel with great food/happy hour.

Buckle up friends. Looks like a hacker may have compromised every single American's SSN.

Make sure you've signed up with the three credit reporting agencies and put a credit freeze on until you need to sign for a line of credit (new card, auto loan, new mortgage or refinance, etc.). This is free to do and was a really good idea to do before this. They will try upsell other protections but what you need is free. You can freeze or unfreeze your credit whenever you need to and as often as you need to.

*Please don't turn this into anything political so folks on this board can see this and be aware.
So glad we're just finding out when it sounds like it happened back in...April 😬

Stayed at a couple Embassy Suites within the last year that had superb breakfasts.

I'm surprised most by how few ints Heupel's QB's throw in a season.
I was kind of surprised that Joe threw 5 last year. I remember the two against SCar, but I couldn't recall the others. That seemed abnormally high for a Heup QB. Joe was a 6th year senior at that time though. He made a lot of rookie level mistakes due to the fact that I don't think he could process things quickly enough to effectively run Heup's offense. I am not hating on Joe, because I am glad we didn't toss Nico into the fire. I am just saying that he made a lot of mistakes that a seasoned veteran QB should not have made.

Stuff like this drives me crazy…. i’m cheering for joe but he has thrown 6 total passes in a preseason game as a 4th string qb. I wish we could send Hooker to Georgia like we did Mike Griffith.

He bathes in blinking neon troll light like some posters on here. 😒 Still waiting for that breaking off-field “trouble” he promised about James Pearce.

Why do you guys just always wanna bash Joe? 😂

The moment Kiffin hung USC pictures in the training complex, I knew he was going to bolt.

Rant incoming:

I didn't like the hire because I thought he would land us on probation or worse. Getting fired by Al Davis should have been a huge red flag NOT TO HIRE HIM. Other than Pruitt, Lane Kiffin was the worst hire post-Philip Fulmer. He started all the misery. His timing (about a month before signing day) could not have been more damaging to us. And then we panicked and hired Derek Dooley. The ones that were saying "bRIng hMi HomE" were/are idiots. It's unbelievable how short some people's memories are. Lane Kiffin is trash and never to be brought back or even considered a coaching candidate for UT again.

End rant

@08Vol had a pretty good summary back in 2017......
On point for MOST of that except the Al Davis part. Davis was a vindictive hustler who practically stole the Raiders from the franchise owners who entrusted him to run the team. Did instill a win at all costs mentality but would get into petty blood grudges with players he didn’t want anymore but would park on his roster as basic hostages in the days before true free agency…like Steve Buerlein and Marcus Allen. The core of his differences with Kiffin was his ramrodding of Jamarcus Russell into team savior and outrage towards Kiffin’s non-belief in his boy. Remember in that famous news conference “Jamarcus Russell is a STAR…deal with it!” Combined with his obsession with drafting the fastest Combine performers every season in the top rounds and signing the previous Super Bowl MVP (whether they fit or not), he singlehandedly ran his club into the ground. Kiffin joins Mike Shanahan on being the right side of that history imo.

Is Accounting aware of your extravagant travel expenses? Maybe I need to review the T&E policy and close a few fancy pants loop holes. lol
That's where my boss recommended lol. So I didn't argue with him. He always says if we have to be out of town might as well stay somewhere nice and eat well lol.
