Agree. If the goal is to create a good product and crown a worthy champion, re-seeding is the way to go.

Or just give the top 4 a bye and be done with it. Being the conference champ of some g5 trash conference should have no impact on whether or not you get in. This isn't a 64 team format where you can give away some extra spots to non deserving conference champs.

I think after a couple of years of this, we'll end up with an 8 team playoff with no auto bids.

The whole format is the "sounds good in theory" format. It sounds good in theory to let a G5 team in there. And then watching them lose by 3 scores after getting a 1st round bye a couple of times will dissuade that idea.

100%. I was watching a segment on ESPN earlier this week and went nuts when Ja'Marr Chase had no idea who LSU was playing this weekend. Made it seem like these kids are just playing for themselves and a paycheck without any school concern, like mercenaries. The rest of the segment was better with most players knowing who they were playing, so whatever.

Watching so many players incensed over flags yesterday was excellent because it shows they actually give a damn about their school.

It's more ego posturing and mob mentality than it is school pride. Also, anyone can pretend to want to fight when they're surrounded by 100 of their teammates, coaches, police and tens of thousands of fans on their side. Oh yeah....there is also very little chance of being hurt because they are in full pads and a damn helmet. Much higher chance of getting hurt in-game.

If they were so tough and had so much school pride then maybe they wouldn't get dunked at home, especially by inferior teams.

I don’t see the playoff ever shrinking, only getting bigger

They should have their own playoff and title.

12 team playoff with no G5 teams would be perfect. But we likely end up with a 16 team playoff, two major conferences (further expanded SEC and super Big Ten), 4 pods of 6 teams in each conference, and the winners of those pods automatically get playoff bids plus 8 wildcards.

Basically the NFL model, but with 8 more teams per conference.

Has Dylan Sampson’s 4 fumbles come on the first drives of our games? I’m thinking most if not all have come on our first drive of the game. Many of them have been when we are in scoring position. He needs to clean that up. Since it is so early in the game, I wonder if it’s just a concentration issue?

It’s the opposite. He’s all speed but not enough physicality. UGA makes its corners tackle. It’s a mindset. He never quite got there. Entered the portal last year and decided to stay.
