All comes down to close margins. We're only 26 votes ahead (AP) and 49 ahead (coaches). So, if we’re #6 in both the AP and Coaches poll ahead of OSU, surely the committee isn’t going to screw us and give them the home game over us?? Wards Manuel, it’s time to be a Michigan man and screw your bitter rival.
Texas and Oregon losing doesn’t put us on the road. Psu and Uga are both ahead of us already. Only thing that matters now is if Osu is behind us Tuesday or not. No matter the results of Conference champ Saturday we’ll only move up or stay the sameSo if the CFP Tuesday matches the AP..
Az St @ psu
Bama @ ND
Indiana @ UGA
OSU@ TN
I think we want Texas and Oregon to win next week... For sure. Maybe they drop three losers a spot? Especially if tx/Oregon wins big? They would drop PSU behind OSU right?
If Clemson beats SMU... The ACC champ falls out of the top 4.. big 12 winner likely moves up to that spot especially if it's az St.... And Clemson gets in at 12.. First team out is still USCe. Brutal for USCe... If they don't get in this week..I'm not sure there's a path barring minds being changed after the title games for some reason...
What we don't need is Oregon and/or Texas losing and then figuring out how far to drop them.. At that point we're on the road.
I'm not sure about that at all. It would be 'cleaner'certainly for them to more or less swap places.... So I get that.Texas and Oregon losing doesn’t put us on the road. Texas and Oregon winning likely guarantees us being at home first round though.Texas and Oregon losing doesn’t put us on the road. Psu and Uga are both ahead of us already. Its not remotely close to the same. There’s no byes in the dance, the conference winners aren’t guaranteed 1 seeds. The format they have creates issues and easier paths for teams that aren’t deserving. No tournament in the history of tournaments is like thatThats like saying the AA tournament should re seed. It's just the the luck of the draw.
This. Such a stupid format that reeks of clueless academicians trying to overly complicate something simple. Its not remotely close to the same. Agree. If the goal is to create a good product and crown a worthy champion, re-seeding is the way to go.Its not remotely close to the same.
