I guess I’m just too preoccupied with the playoffs and seedings and all that to be worried about decommits right now..Everything will work out one way or another..Look, I'm not overreacting like some, but if losing highly rated highly valued commits doesn't harsh your mellow in the least, then I question how much you truly understand recruiting. Shady's decommitment is alarming because it came out of nowhere, and with days to go until the ESP begins, it's not like we have a backup plan. Maybe we flip Merritt from Miami, but he's a different kind of safety than Shady. You do you, but I feel like we just lost a talented kid to a rival program that was not very good this year.
Playing Texas would be our best bet in that scenario I think. They're overratedHere's a scenario I wouldn't necrssarily hate if we can't host because OSU stays high and UGA beats TEX...
1) PSU
2) UGA
3) SMU
4) Boise St
5) Oregon
6) Tex
7) OSU
8) ND
9) UT
Win and get PSU in RD 2.
Maybe the best of the "bad scenarios"
Playoffs are gonna need to do reseeding after this year. If a 12 seed upsets the 5 seed in round 1 there’s absolutely zero reason the 4 seed should get the benefit of playing the lowest seeded team in the semi’s
Agree but it'll be 16 teams. There's no going back down imo.I think after a couple of years of this, we'll end up with an 8 team playoff with no auto bids.
The whole format is the "sounds good in theory" format. It sounds good in theory to let a G5 team in there. And then watching them lose by 3 scores after getting a 1st round bye a couple of times will dissuade that idea.
16 is ideal. The main 4 conference champs and runner ups get a bid then the next 8 out. And I think you take it out of a committee and you base that 8 on the AP poll, which is the one poll everyone generally agrees on. I know some will say runner ups shouldn’t get it, but my thoughts are if you’re good enough to be #2 in your conference, you deserve a shot if it’s an expanded landscape.Agree but it'll be 16 teams. There's no going back down imo.
16 teams out of 134 total teams (12%) seems perfectly reasonable and wouldn't increase the total # of games per team.
College bball does 68 out of ~350 teams (~20%). NFL does 14 out of 32 (44%)...
