Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Again, they’ve stressed the fact they aren’t punishing teams that are playing when others are sitting at home

Perhaps I end up being wrong, but I think some folks are going to be surprised at how little conference title game losers are penalized. Specifically, a loss from Penn State and/or Georgia, especially Georgia, I do not believe will lead to us hosting. I expect both of those two teams would still host.

Positives... We're in.
OSU fans have a bad taste inn their mouths, and hate their coach.

They're nearly a double digit favorite..

Our goal was to get in. Thier goal was to win it all, and end the streak to Michigan.

There's absolutely no pressure on us... So we can just go play...I wonder how tight they'll be, and if we can tighten them just a little...

Long story short... It ain't necessarily a bad draw.

SEC needs to threaten to break off from the rest and just announce we'll call our conference champion the national champion. We could have a good tournament of just SEC teams.

They won’t be punished for it unless they get blown out or their QB gets hurt. It sets a bad precedent.
They’ve already set that precedent in previous years plenty of times. Teams lose their conference champ games they drop a little. Not saying it will definitely happen next Sunday but it’s crazy to act like there’s no chance of movement

Teams that don’t play aren’t moving
That's not what he was saying. He was saying that teams that are out that are not playing will not have a chance to get in. He was specifically asked about the 10-3 teams that were not in. If some reams lose in the conference championships, you think they would move without maybe moving someone who is already in the playoffs? I get what you are saying, I just interpreted what he said differently than you.
