Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I'd rather see 4 SEC teams make the playoffs and advance as far as possible. I'm rooting for Bama to make it in and beat Notre Dame.

I only root for bama to go 0-12 every year. I hate Notre dame but not like the bammers. Matter of fact I hate every sec team not named Tennessee and don't want them to win.........ever.

I want to reiterate how stupid it is to have automatic 1-4 and 12 as the conference champions.

First of all, the 12 for 5th best conference champion was only done under the idea that they assumed it would be a G5 team (or 2-Pac) ranked in the teens or 20s. Imagine a scenario where the 5 best teams in the country win their conferences. The #5 team would be the 12-seed and would have to play #6 who jumps to 5-seed. Bonkers.

Seed the bracket straight up. Right now it would be:
1. Oregon(aq) - bye
2. Texas(aq) - bye
3. Penn State - bye
4. Notre Dame - bye
5. Georgia v 12. Arizona State(aq)
6. Ohio State v 11. Alabama
7. Tennessee v 10. Boise State(aq)
8. SMU(aq) v 9. Indiana

Again, we do this for March Madness. Conference champs don't get the highest seeds, just auto-bids. So many conference champs end up 15 and 16-seeds. They seed the bracket straight up.

Ohio State may be the most talented team (although I don’t agree with Wes on that), but they just lost to a very meh Michigan team at home. They’re beatable. Alabama lost at Vandy and at Oklahoma. Playing at Notre Dame will be way way way tougher than those two games. This isn’t the invincible Bama of old. Notre Dame beats them in South Bend more times than not. Our draw may not be ideal but it isn’t a death sentence either.

Its like Vince McMahon setting up a king of the ring bracket, its sports entertainment now........who cares if its fair.

I think they have the most expensive roster. On paper it may also be the most talented.

Just like people were losing their **** after we lost to georgia that we were not getting in the playoffs, theres a lot of football left
THANK YOU.

People have been overreacting to temporal situations like crazy this season...and even in the worst of outcomes (at this point)...we're in the playoffs!!

Hell, maybe they'll even drop us if we're lucky 😅

Sankey probably made a deal with the Michigan AD. He said it's okay to job us as long as Bama makes it in with their 3 losses.

While I think South Carolina should be in Alabama’s spot based on the overall body of work, I can see why Bama is there. Who else should be there? Miami? They’re 10-2 but didn’t beat a single ranked team.

I agree it’s the most expensive. Perhaps it’s the most talented, but it’s not by a long shot by any means. Plus, they have Ryan Day who has shown he is prone to blowing the big games. Winnable game if we play up to our capabilities.

Don't know if it's been discussed here already, but Michigan was so great they just fired their OC today.
