I hate it and really want a home game, but I get it. Michigan at home is a much worse loss than Arkansas on the road imo, but Michigan's FPI / SP+ are a bit better than their record indicates. They've got two top 10 wins. ESPN SOR has them above us too. I think we've had the better season and are more deserving of the spot, but given the metrics available it's not totally unreasonable to have OSU ahead of us by one.

While I think South Carolina should be in Alabama’s spot based on the overall body of work, I can see why Bama is there. Who else should be there? Miami? They’re 10-2 but didn’t beat a single ranked team.

I only root for bama to go 0-12 every year. I hate Notre dame but not like the bammers. Matter of fact I hate every sec team not named Tennessee and don't want them to win.........ever.

Then every win we get in the SEC has no value. You guys make no sense. The rest of the SEC doing well makes Tennessee look good when we beat them. If Alabama had gone 0-12 this year we wouldn't be in the playoffs right now considering they are our only ranked wins. Whether you like it or not our success as the University of Tennessee is tied to the success of the teams in our conference. If the rest of our conference sucks then we don't get the benefit of the doubt to get into the playoffs with 2 losses.

We will beat OSU. And I like our chances in a big game on a neutral field against Oregon.

I don’t disagree. They’re there because they’re all 11-1 and because of 1) brand in the case of PSU and ND and 2) IU is a great story. That absolutely plays a part even though it shouldn’t.

Get biased AD’s out of the process and that sort of thing goes away. Implement a NET rankings system similar to the one used in college hoops. That’s the solution, but it won’t happen. Too much money with too many people wanting to have their hands in the pot.

I will say that we are universally under the radar in football for some reason. Josh Pate is now power rating South Carolina ahead of us. Our defense and run game get zero credit all because we don’t have explosive pass game.

Most likely we’re going to have to go to Columbus and then beat Oregon or go to Columbus and then beat Penn St

A little less likely is going to Penn St then Oregon

Slightly less likely is going to Texas and then having to play Oregon or Penn st

Less likely than that is playing at Georgia and then against Penn St/Oregon

Least likely is hosting against Penn St/Georgia/Texas and then going to Oregon or Penn St

Seems virtually certainty we will be in the 8/9 game playing the 1 seed if we make it to round 2

Not a hot take just a logical one. I think the Big 10 is weaker than the SEC so I'd rather be on the side of the bracket with all the Big 10 teams than on the side of the bracket that has Georgia, Texas, and Alabama.

Gimme Ohio State, Oregon, and Penn State any day of the week.

The only reason to be scared of playing Ga is at Ga because the refs are going to kill you. In return we go to OSU and the refs are going to kill you there. The way I looked at was , they did not want Tn in this from the start and thats why Tn stayed around 10-12 spots. Well since there was no way to eliminate Tn they would just give them the hardest path.

If the rest of the conference sucked we would be undefeated....... Why am I arguing with you, I know better. Short answer, I'm a VOL and hate every other team in the conference who isn't the VOLS.

It's not unreasonable if you believe Penn St and Indiana are the 3rd and 10th best teams respectively. They are not. The whole B1G is a fraud based on regional bias to justify this kind of

I agree brand but do not give a darn about 1972 psu or 1985 nd this is and should be based off 2024. Psu played one team all yr and lost. Nd played N Il and lost at home. A MAC team at home. PSU OOC is WV and mac teams and Bowling green was right there at the end.
I hope we do go to OSU and beat their ass but this CFP is a joke and not just from UT stand point.
