Recruiting Football Talk VIII

If that bracket holds... Our path runs thru OSU and Oregon.

Penn St... Az St.. Boise St

Alabama/ND... SMU..

UGA... Penn St..

It really must be nice to be kissed by angels... Bama is so freaking lucky....@ND is tough. But SMU in the qtrs?

Go Clemson is all I can say.

They just need to come up with a points system to determine playoffs.
5 points for a win
3 points for a win on road
3 points for top 25 win
5 points for a top 10 win
7 points for a top 5 win
5 points for top 25 win in final ranking
7 points for top 10 win in final ranking
10 points for top 5 win in final ranking

So in theory if you win on the road against a top 5 team that would end up top 5 in the final ranking you would earn 25 points for that game.
I think you would have to set up a loss of points as well but it could be done.
Would truly put the best 12 teams into a playoff.

No need to worry about sos , it will all work itself out imo

When we kick Ohio States ass, I hope Hype plants our flag on that O and double Gauldens on the way out. F em
Not that I care for em, but what's OSU have to do with anything? The folks that came up with this joke of a structure are who should Double Gaulden'd.

Pretty sure OSU doesn't (nor UGA) want the 7/8/9 seed either. These are the bum seats analytically speaking 🤣

The models don't like this matchup for us. Whixh is why us going there really sucks. It what it is. We'll have to play the game of the season on the road for us. We can beat them, but not starting the way we have in most contests to date. Glad we get 3 weeks to prep for what is very likely a locked in matchup.

Yeah but rankings change and teams get hurt and people will boo hoo that it was all subjective.

Give me the damn BCS back.

Here’s how Bill Connelly’s BCS-style ranking model projects tonight’s field:

1. Oregon Ducks (12-0)
2. Texas Longhorns (11-1)
3. Penn State Nittany Lions (11-1)
4. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (11-1)
5. Georgia Bulldogs (10-2)
6. Tennessee Volunteers (10-2)

7. Ohio State Buckeyes (10-2)

Brand name bias. That’s what happens when you win at a high clip for a long time.

Ignoring that Miami has ZERO RANKED WINS...while the comparitive team has 2 playoff-opponent wins (top 10).

This is the playoffs. It's about how well you're projected to do vs other playoff-caliber teams. Have to prove...at least something.

This is the best shot.
Only shot. What they will actually and lazily do is for the top seed conference champs they will simply flip flop all the conference game upsets spots. Meaning us as OSU can't switch.

UGA 2/3
TX 4/5
PSU 1/2
OR 2/3
SMU & Clemson who knows.

Ward being a BiG10 AD can choke on his 10th hotdog. Pretty clear the bias.

Barrett is right about one thing. Warde has no clue what he is doing.

This is what I was saying earlier - the only teams that can move are the ones playing but if they move them others can move as a result.

But there is no way for us to move in front of OSU.

Penn State is the most logical of teams that can move or they stay exactly where they are.

Penn State could move behind Tennessee or just in front of Tennessee. They would have to really look awful in the loss or a season ending injury to 44 or their QB.

UGA can drop below us. Penn state can drop below us. Texas can drop below us.

Give me what I thought was the BCS then. My only real and genuine beef is the BIG10 has played no one. I am very curious if the heavy weight toward them holds up in game play. I am personally doubtful, but it does suck to draw their 20 million dollar team as a 1st round opponent.
