Recruiting Football Talk VIII

If UGA blows out Texas, then it's not guaranteed that Texas stays above us. They really don't have many quality wins and their strength of schedule isn't great. We need a dominant win in that game for either team, Oregon to blow out PSU, and Clemson to barely beat SMU (to hopefully boot Alabama).
I think UGA blows TX out and Oregon kills PSU. For the life of me, I don’t understand the live TX is getting in this UGA game. TX has beaten nobody.)

I have seen people say we have to recruit better. And I agree but my big question is how do you do it? Look at the top 10 according to On3:
1. TX
2. Bama
3. Oregon
4. UGA
5. OSU
6. Michicheat
7. AU
8. LSU
9. TAMU
10. TN

That’s 7 out of the top 10 that’s on the SEC. So how do you overcome that? Now I also found something interesting that On3 does. It puts average NIL. Now let’s evaluate that.

TX (215k)
Bama (280k)
Oregon (243 k)
UGA (200k)
OSU (207k)
Michicheat (278k)
AU (190k)
LSU (166k)
TAMU (175k)
TN (178k)

So serious question. How do we realistically ever get into the top 5 in recruiting? And before anyone comes in with oh that doesn’t matter in the portal era, yea it does. Ole Miss built it through the portal and look where they are.

I think it would help if we became a larger university from a student body count … eventually would lead to a larger donor pool .. most of these universities have twice if not triple the undergraduate size as Tennessee… that’s one route to get to a higher nil pool …

"Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime" - Josh Heupel

Everyone around college football b*tchin and moaning about who is where and who should be in that isn't and "making their case" publicly.

Heupel says "Let's go put the ball down."

Leader.
Beating the Suckeyes will be solid gold. I hate everything about them, down to little pride stickers they put on their helmets.

Prioritize the right players with your budget. The recruiting class rankings are going to look similar every year. We’ll be around 10 every year unless something changes with our budget. Maybe Jimmy sells the Browns and buys us a few #1 classes but otherwise we’ve got what we’ve got and need to spend it wisely. It’s not a level playing field. I could delve into doing away with the “NIL” nonsense and following the NFL model with revenue sharing and a salary cap but figuring that out is above my pay grade.

****…Oregon

- Moore (#1 WR in the country) 5 star
- Wilson (#2 WR in the county) 5 star
- Offord (#2 DB in the country) 5 Star
- Finney (#5 DB in the country) 5 Star
- Brew (#6 DB in the country) Top 50
- McNutt (#2 Safety in the country) 5 Star
That’s what big money gets you. And where is Oregon? Only the lone undefeated team in the nation and ranked #1. But the stars don’t matter people will tell you none of that matters. Yet if we got all those 5*, those same people would be jumping for joy and bragging about how great our class is.

Meanwhile we are fringe top 10

I'm having beers late into the night after a successful performance of a show I'm in

Then, Texas A&M and 8-4 just popped up on "That SEC Podcast"

I just did one of those laughs that makes you cough

Amazing they ended up 8-4 after all that 😂

What show are you doing?
It's every Christmas Story Ever told...and then some lol

Basically, my character thinks he's just doing Christmas Carol and my cast mates force me to do everything but a Christmas carol...until the second act and then while doing Christmas Carol they start turning it into A Wonderful Life.

It's kinda madness...barely got through it today, basically had no idea where i was in the script several times and had to work some improv magic 😅

Someone told us "wow you guys did a really great job at looking like you didn't know what you were doing!" As a compliment hehe

SEC currently 14-1 in the SEC/ACC Challenge (Aka first annual "playing with your food" day)

Auburn v Duke is the last game.
The balance of power will rear it's head in conference. Some of these early results for a few of the SEC teams are fools gold..
