Yup they waaay overestimated the difference between 5-8 seeds. It's a total grabbag.I think you still have to reward conference champs, but I can get behind this. I say Top 16, your top 5 highest ranked conference champs get an automatic bid, top 8 highest ranked teams get home field advantage. And instead of BCS, you go by the AP Poll, which is typically widely accepted and usually accurate. And you seed it accurately. 1 plays 16, 2 plays 15, etc.
As it stands now, the 1 seed looks to actually have the hardest path. Can you imagine being Oregon, going undefeated all year long only to have to play TN/OSU and then, if you win that, you’d have to play either Boise state or PSU/ASU (most likely PSU)?
The problem here, conferences do not want to get rid of the championship games. SECCG is a money maker for themI think playoffs should be top 16, no conference championship (what does it prove if Georgia plays Texas over and over?) Top eight of sixteen get home field advantage in first round. BCS picks the rankings so no bias involved.
I don't understand Timothee Chalamet being the guess picker today? Am I missing something other than he has the Bob Dylan movie to promote?
The conferences (as separate legal entities) need to be done away with. The problem here, conferences do not want to get rid of the championship games. SECCG is a money maker for them
My idea has always been. 8 conferences.I think playoffs should be top 16, no conference championship (what does it prove if Georgia plays Texas over and over?) Top eight of sixteen get home field advantage in first round. BCS picks the rankings so no bias involved.
I don't see any way they drop UGA below us if they lose but if Texas gets beat pretty soundly by UGA, then that opens the door for a discussion and a slight chance Texas drops behind us. I guess that means I'll pull against Texas. I mostly care about Oregon whipping PSU and Clemson barely beating SMU. Whatever might bump us up to hosting and Alabama getting booted...that's what I'm pulling for.Who you guyspulling forhoping loses?

It was so gracious and just awesome that Sampson honored Gene McEver and his family is his remarks on field after breaking his TD record. SEC Player of the Year. VFL.December 7, 1929
UT - 54
South Carolina - 0
The undefeated (once tied) Vols played host to 6-4 South Carolina. After a 6-6 tie the week before, the Vols and Gene McEver ran wild over Carolina. In the sloppy mud, McEver ran for 5 touchdowns and 3 extra points (giving him 130 points for the season-leading the nation) and Buddy Hackman ran for 3 TDs in the 54-0 victory. McEver was named All-American and he and Bobby Dodd were named All-Southern!

Yay capitalism.From an article:
“All that being said, Chalamet's presence at Saturday's game probably relates less to his love for down-and-dirty SEC footballthan it does to the national debut of his upcoming project: A Complete Unknown, a Bob Dylan biopic in which the actor plays the role of Mr. Subterranean Homesick Blues himself. Coming to theaters on Christmas Day, A Complete Unknown is being distributed by Searchlight Pictures, a subsidiary of Walt Disney Studios, which is owned by The Walt Disney Company. ESPN is likewise primarily owned by The Walt Disney Company. At this point, you may be cottoning on as to why young Timothée's shining face will be beamed into Wingstop-scented living rooms across the country Saturday afternoon.”
It’s definitely the movie promotion. Couple that with the fact that he’s a young up-and-coming star, they’re gonna do what they can to get as many young people to watch as possible. It’s all about the ratings!I don't understand Timothee Chalamet being the guess picker today? Am I missing something other than he has the Bob Dylan movie to promote?
