I think SMU would beat Vandy and Oklahoma if they played them

I think the ACC is good enough to be a two-bid league, when you consider Miami’s season and Georgia Tech’s 8 OTs versus the SEC champs

It seems everyone is in agreement, the auto bye for conference champs needs to go.

I think it’s the jacked up new conference alignment that’s complicating things. If you took old alignment into account, I think very few would have any quibbles about giving the 4 highest rank conference opponents automatic bids and byes. Each year, it would be the SEC champ, the Big 10 Champ, the PAC 10 Champ, and either the Big 12 Champ or ACC Champ (depending on who’s ranked higher that year) getting those spots.

Well, few people outside of those conferences would have a problem, that is.

I wanted to post this without reading ahead. If the committee is serious about conference championship games and not punishing the loser here is what the ranking should look like. imho
My rankings would also stop the ”gaming the system” for the 5 spot.
1-Oregon
2- UGA
3- Boise St
4- Clemson
5-ASU
6-Notre Dame
7- OSU
8-Tennessee
9-Indiana
10-Texas
11-PSU
12-SMU
Conference champs would get the first 5 spots, losers would drop to the bottom and be ranked by previous weeks rankings. Just my 2 cents

I think we are playing penn state. I’m fine with that but we should be at home. Their best win is against a 20+ Illinois.

With either game being on the road and based on what I saw last night, I think OSU in disarray is a better matchup. Win this one game and Heupel erases the road woes narrative.
