Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Imma sell my house to Private Equity and move to Central America. Screw all y'all.
Better first check the brand name on the bananas in your republic-of-choice!

Reminded of the prologue to a great 1940 Preston Sturges movie, The Great McGinty:

"This is the story of two men who met in a bar in a banana republic. One of them never did anything dishonest in his life except for one crazy minute. The other never did anything honest in his life except for one crazy minute.

They both had to get out of the country."

I am sure most everyone has heard about the massive data breach of social security numbers and other personal data. There is a tool from cyber security company, Pentester, that allows you to do a simple search to see if your data was part of the breach. Found that myself, my wife's, and one son's data was compromised. The tool provides info on how to freeze your credit reports.

We really don't disagree, I just hate that we emphasize recruiting over coaching and development, when they are three legs of the same stool. I'll take our position over half the teams above us, because I think our staff is far better, and we're better because of it.
There is quality coaching and development at far more schools than the Top 8 on that list - yet that Top 8 accounts for 90% of the Titles won.

What is present at that Top 8 (in addition to coaching and development) in quantities not present at the other schools?

The answer to your Florida question lay with the aforementioned stool.

If you don’t know why PE is a bad thing, just say that. It is well known that PE firms are scum who only value short-term gain over all else. They will lay off, sell, or outsource all that they can to realize that gain, no matter the long-term effects and consequences. They are vultures who come in with smiles while they prepare to carve you up like a turkey. They’re not to be trusted under any circumstances, and any AD in this country would be wise to avoid them at all costs.

If a PE group like Redbird LLC decides that UNC is not making enough money within their typically extremely aggressive timelines, they’re going to start selling stuff the university owns to make up the difference—and ANYTHING is on the table at that point. That’s a fact.

We should consider ourselves lucky that UT makes enough money that this isn’t even remotely necessary. These smaller schools that are being forced into this by ADs and presidents with no financial knowledge are going to learn some very hard lessons.

I hate people

You first to Uganda 😁 We'll see who's better off.

Or maybe I'll move to Sweden, Luxembourg, Norway, Canada, plenty of options.

Have fun in Russia, Saudia Arabia, North Korea, and the other *** backwards countries that drool over perverted "tradition".

Also sure you'd love to see 2024 USA as if we still lived in 1800...hopefully you're lucky enough to be of just the right stock 😒
You’re an interesting dude.

Yep. Of those three, that's the order I watched most frequently. Bonanza didn't have Audra Barkley but it was a better show.

Also was a big fan of The Rifleman and, like lots of kids, tried to imitate Chuck Connors' rapid fire rifle moves from the intro.

Another more obscure one I liked when I was younger was a show called Sugarfoot that no one ever seems to have heard of. So I was thrilled when they did a bit with the Sugarfoot theme song on Arrested Development.
Didn’t Ty Hardin play Sugarfoot?
