Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Yes very embarrassing
Kinda pisses me off after what we’ve been told
I did say..IF..this is true, that it is embarrassing. I don't really believe that it is true though.

What I do believe is that our pockets are nowhere near as deep as most of those big names on that list, and the money we do have is not just spent foolishly or ever will be. We have seen that approach fail spectacularly at other places.

We pass on, or bow out of bidding wars on, players that us fans would really want us to do whatever it takes to bring them in...that is just the truth of it.

And that gets frustrating because we all know how close we are to being an absolute steamroller instead of really good team with weak spots here and there.

But I get it, and I support our approach to it...as long as we keep putting really good competitive teams out there that are full of guys that are easy to pull for.

It sucked to lose Shady...that one is really going to sting for a while..but the truth is that Florida is absolutely desperate right now and we are not.

This either going to be a Grand Slam in the bottom of the 9th to win the WS..........or a three swing Stikeout.............

No grey area at all.
This seems insane...where is all that money going to come from? And do they not understand that just spending tons of money doesn't mean you will be even a little successful?...ESPECIALLY spending all of that on coaching staff...

These Trustees are absolutely stupid for taking this monumental risk.

If he can get upgrades to facilities and the stadium finished, its grand slam no matter if he fails or not.

Those two things alone will put them in the next tier for football and will be a tremendous help for whoever is after.

Ultimately, I think he will do a hell of a job. I think he’s going to take the Ole Miss route and just absolutely hit the portal hard. I’d say a majority of his team/recruiting will be the portal, it’s the most like free agency and something he could really thrive off of, because you REALLY don’t need relationships, just enough cash.
Their fans DO NOT CARE about football...period.
