Kid last year, and Berry were best returners ive seen at UT. Even Willie Gault.

Punt returners yes. Patterson was amazing too.

The best kick returner ever at UT IMO is Dale Carter. 2 time 1st team All American kick returner. (Also AA as DB) Lead the nation averaging 29.6yds per return for an entire season. I was there for a game as a kid when he housed one like 98 yards.

Eric Berry was the bigger hitter...but Dale is the best athlete relative to his peers that I have ever seen at UT. Even against Flarda, Bama, UGA etc he was always the fastest player on the field and knew it. Like Deion in his prime, Dale would give WR a step or 2 to bait the QB into throwing the ball knowing he could close the gap and try for the pick. Deion got more headlines in the NFL because he was so flashy and mouthy...but a case can be made that DC was the best Corner in the NFL then. Perennial ProBowler and All-Pro.

Edit: looked it up and Evan Berry broke his record. 3 kickoffs for TDs, 38yds per return. Amazing. Dale was drafted with the 20th pick overall to the Chiefs. Pretty cool that our 2 best DBs ever both played for the same NFL team.

Dude he played in the Big12. I dont know that one can say that with certainty.

Now McCoy...who was a freshman AA and then the best Corner in the SEC this year with what 4 picks...2 or 3 of which were in the endzone?? I can make a sound logical case that McCoy is better at CB than Travis. We played against the best WRs in the nation in the SEC. The Big12 is a conference we could go 12-0 in 3 out of every 4 years at this point.

Probably my top 5 returners at Tennessee. Sad I didn’t see Gault live but have watched enough of the footage out there to see he was special.

I think Boo Carter could cement himself as well, if he keeps getting to return it.

Well why watch the game if you're so dead set on this narrative? The way individuals are talking on here, CJH should just mail it in and say the hell with it. Although you do you and be in misery about every situation about this upcoming football game. Just like the basketball game great teams overcome all obstacles and still win. The basketball team just proved it, why not the football team?

For one reason only...my deep abiding love of Tennessee...because I am a Tennessean.

Not the players, not the coaches, not because I thought it was cool and jumped on a bandwagon....but because of my pappaw and all of family...a legacy and tradition going back generations.

And that is why I put up with the ....I will continue to put up with it until I can't anymore.

It's not a narrative...it's the damn truth.
