Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Well why watch the game if you're so dead set on this narrative? The way individuals are talking on here, CJH should just mail it in and say the hell with it. Although you do you and be in misery about every situation about this upcoming football game. Just like the basketball game great teams overcome all obstacles and still win. The basketball team just proved it, why not the football team?
Hey man, you already forgot how "they" will never ever "let us" escape from Nashville with a win and make the playoffs 🤣🤣🤣

Oh, the forgotten narratives...

Travis hunter is an avg cb and a solid wr, the fact that he got hyped up because he played both sides is beyond me, like congrats your stamina and cardio ability is good?
Just curious, have you ever seen him play or know anything about him, because this comes off as pretty ignorant. Not to be mean, but cmon man.

He had the 2nd most TDs as a WR in the nation...while playing both ways also as an elite shutdown db 😆

You can make the playoffs with okay classes. We're proof of that.
But what can you do once there?

Playoffs are top 12 teams. Our classes are fringe top 10. We got to the dance, now what? I expect to be win championships.

There is a corollary between top 5 teams and winning ships.

Elite shutdown db is a little bit of a stretch. But I agree with your overall point, he's an extremely good football player and was probably the most deserving of the award.

And by all accounts is a decent person, which is always a bonus.

Travis Hunter is actually a better DB than a WR which is the wild part about him winning that award
Exactly, defensive players are mostly devalued by the fan crowd. They can't see stats so they can't see what one does as a DB 99% of the time.

Precisely why QBs, RBs take up nearly all Heismans. The bias is wild.

Let’s hope so

All of Florida's hype is built on the shoulders of a very talented QB.

Billy Napier is still not a good gameday coach. I don't think Lagway as a sophomore is going to overcome the poor coaching when Florida doesn't have a clear talent advantage over the mid to upper SEC. They are one injury away from losing all their chips on one player.

If he isn't, no one is.

He's the #1 P5 DB

Take into consideration that he's a mobile QB so you are in injury away from losing all your chips on one player.

injury aside, if you watched them this year you realize quickly that Napier has no clue how to utilize Lagway, which is sad, because IMO he could be the best in the nation next year not named Nico

That's a very subjective statement. There's no Stat you can isolate well enough to say that definitively. Their scheme isn't a "leave Travis on an island to lock down his guy every play."

Just watch him, he's good but not elite at DB. Elite at WR.

It's not my statement, it's the ranking from a service the NFL even uses for draft and eval purposes.

Exactly, there are no stats. The folks that sit down, are knowledgable of the game and position, and watch every single game, do the ratings.

According to experts he's the best P5 guy at the position. The NFL draft boards seem to agree (or at least not disagree). He's going to have to pick a position in the NFL (from what I've seen at least).

So he could start 3 white WR’s and no one would care?
Bro. I know you're being serious but times have changed a little bit.

Northshore HS in Houston TX. Ranked 5th best team in the country. #2 or #3 in Texas.
Just got beat by basically an all white team in Austin Westlake. Oh and Northshore is basically an all black team. With 4 star players everywhere and was undefeated.

It was close game, but Westlake was honestly just as fast as them. I mean...lol

Times are changing hahaha

I wish we had them on the schedule in the next 2 seasons.... really should have a NC team on the schedule every year for recruiting
That Wolfpack one seemed like a good scheduling decision

"Hey NC recruits, here's your most consistently good football team in the state...watch as we completely dismantle them in their own backyard...wanna join the big dogs?"

👀

Yeah he is no doubt the best corner I have watched all year. Playmaking ability is insane.

I was only joking, thought people would catch it. As far as that HS game that’s been that way since I was in HS(c/o 2006). Remember Maryville vs Melrose?
