Recruiting Football Talk VIII

What is this dude's deal?
I’ve been fishing around for the story there, but so far I’ve reeled in empty. Probably angling for a better NIL deal, but who knows if anyone will take the bait?

You also have to wonder if he’s ready to move back into the big pond. Not saying Memphis is a complete minnow, but a lot of these guys at G5 schools feel like they have bigger fish to fry. I’m sure he’ll cast a wide net.

One thing about this game that has rarely been talked about and is the essence of football, is physicality. Having watched a lot of both teams, Tennessee all year and Blohio the last couple weeks, Tennessee is far and away the more physical team.
We pound the rock between the tackles in a lot of creative ways, they are a pass first team that runs a lot of outside zone and wants to get on the edge.
Our defense has consistently created pressure rushing four, they rely heavily on blitzing. (and their corners are not good)
I really believe that we have an advantage just because we play hard-nosed football and they are a finesse team, particularly if the weather is bad.

You cant equivocate against a sitting Senator who is experienced in argumentation and rhetoric. You will lose everytime.
I don't agree with the NCAA's position but the NCAA dude is just a political punching bag. Their policy guidelines do come from Federal ones and the NCAA frankly terrified of losing a lawsuit. When women were given consideration it was an attempt to scuttle Civil Rights measures because at the time the idea of giving women protection was considered ludicrous. As such women are considered a "protected class" but cases that women bring are not given "strict scrutiny."

In practice, that means if someone discriminates against me as a woman I better hope I can claim it was based on race or religion because I will lose any case I bring as a woman. That plays into why all of this is so muddled. Women are "protected but not really" is the state of current law.

or maybe will end up at Candybilt or Austin Peay or ESTU or Chattanooga or somewhere. Somebody will take him
Right. But he was starting at Memphis, which is a level above all of those schools, except Vanderbilt. He had a good season. This isn’t a move for more PT at a lesser school. This is an attempt to move up a level. He should just stay where he is. He doesn’t have the speed or athleticism for SEC ball, at least not as a starter.

Think we’ll get another drop in ticket prices tomorrow?
I've never tracked the online ticket vendors up to game time. Does the online marketplace mimic the actual street market for tickets outside a stadium,in that it drops precipitously right before and right after game time; or do people just eat the tickets if buyers aren't willing to pay whatever prices the site has set?

Listened to some Ohio State podcasts…..takeaways:

1. We can’t run on them. Oregon and PSU were tougher than they will face against us.
2. We can’t throw on them. Because of our inability to run on them the safeties will be able to help in pass coverage.
3. They will be able to get defensive calls in because the D coordinator practiced with Cutcliffe at Duke.
4. They simply have to slow down our D Line and they will throw all over us because Carson Beck did.
5. The cold weather will impact us.
6. Most think they’ll win and cover.
1. We ran the ball all year long in the SEC and neither Organ or State Penn would do as well.
2. Their corners suck and won't be able man cover our receivers. Their safeties are good but they will have to have a big role in stopping the run. We will get a lot of one on one opportunities in the RPO game.
3. They have not faced a sideline to sideline spaced, tempo offense like ours, ever. I don't care if they had Hal Mumme give them a clinic, it is difficult to prepare for.
4. They won't be able to simply slow us down, they didn't slow down Michigan and we're better. We rotate so many bodies and they do not, we will wear them down. We've done it all year. I think by the second half we will have our way with them.
5. Tennessee is a team that built to better handle inclement weather than is Blohio. We can win ugly, we saw what happens when they get in to that kind of game a couple of weeks ago.
6. The same people who were confident that they were whip a .500 Michigan who got taken to the woodshed by TU. Michigan had no passing game and pushed Blohio around.
7. WGWTFA.

I spoke to my son about what I posted last night. He said the Bambu Labs was definitely the way to go. He said that the only downside was that you had to use their proprietary filament. They add an RFID tag so the printer knows what you are printing with.

I mentioned that I told you that you need to be proficient in 3D cad to use one and he said that wasn't necessarily true. He said there are libraries where you can download projects and print them. If you want to design your own stuff you'll have to learn 3d cad.

If you want to get into 3D cad, he recommended using Fusion 360. You can use it for free unless it's commercial use. I have to pay for it. 😐

Awesome info. Could you ask him if he feels like we'd be missing out on the other types of filaments since the A1 doesn't have an enclosure or if that's something that isn't gonna matter until we get way further into to 3D printing? Also does he think buying the combo is worth it for multi color prints?
