Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Someone smarter than me answer this. What is preventing college athletes from having unlimited eligibility? How does eligibility running out not cause some form of antitrust/legal issue? Since the players are basically employees or profiting form endorsements how can they just tell them they’re done playing after 4 years? I think Pavias case opens a can of worms.
From my understanding the only thing that keeps eligibility a thing is tradition. I think the Jose Football case is going to bring that to front.

I just got into 3D printing back in July. Bambu is definitely the move. It does everything for you. You can download and print other folks models from bambu studio. I bought an A1 mini but would like to buy a bigger model as I'd like to sell prints. You don't have to use bambu filament. I've used other brands, you just have to manually enter the info. That fusion360 is EXPENSIVE lol. I have no idea how to use CAD but that's interesting about libraries. I didn't know that.
I think the larger models need their filament because they have multiple spools. At least that's the way it was explained to me.

Fusion 360 is expensive, trust me, I have to pay for it. Having said that, you can download and use it for free as an individual. My Son In Law is learning it now a d it was free. You can't as a commercial operation.

I hope they have enough NIL money for the rest of their life.

How many companies are going to hire a 25-26 year old with no working experience because they wanted to stay in school to play football

Cool story. Do you know Clausens stats from the 2001 and 2003 games? Let’s see.

2001- 17/25 168 yards 1 TD and 2 INTs

2003- 12/23 235 yards 1 TD and 1 INT

So in the two big wins many fans attribute to Clausen, he threw 2 TDs and 3 INTs. In 2001, we won 34-32. Clausen accounted for 7 points. In 2003, we won 24-10. Again he accounted for 7 points. So those combined games the “iceman” accounted for 14 out of 58 points.

Tell me again how Clausen “beat” UF. You and others need to learn what a team game is. He was not the main reason we beat UF in 2001 and 2003. In 2001, Stephen’s drained the swamp. He wa the main reason we won in 2001. In 2003, again it was the running game and a great defense. Just like this year.

Would you say Nico beat UF this year?
No you wouldn’t. He was part of it. But we won because of great defense and an elite run game. Just like in 2001 and 2003. Lear some history before you act like an idiot.
The quarterback is responsible for more than that. He sets the tone. The team feeds off him. It's a leadership role. He also decided when to check down to a run. He executed the offense that led us to big wins in the road. Credit where credit is due.

You ever eat at "The Snoring Bear"?
I’ve eaten at all the Bears; Snoring, Dancing and Black (hate it closed). Had a bunch of hotdogs from the Gulf station. We tend to frequent the Abbey and Peaceful Side Social or drive back towards town to Chaplines for Mexican lately. Tough finding Townsend restaurants these days with the rate they burn down!

I can print multicolor with the AMS lite. I think your son may have said do that because it would make things easier buttt maybe the bigger models do require it. They have excellent filament from what my inexperienced eyes can tell. There are options to select different brands and/or modified presets. It's so cool to use though. I've thought about just using the free version to learn how it works but yeah that commercial one is crazy. Luckily there are folks out there who offer subs and you can sell their prints. I've thought about starting there.

Really...you don't think people of a certain mindset haven't raised their children to not be entitled little needy whiny 💩s like people of another mindset have?

Mine are 28, 30 and 31. One of them has been married for 10 years, one for 9..and all of them moved out when they went to school and made a life for themselves.

I didn't raise them to be f'n soft needy bums....but you do you.
I totally agree. I have seen very good parents have bad kids and I have seen bad parents have good kids, but they are the exceptions. Good people propagate good people.
Like you mine were gone when the graduated high school one to college and the other the Army. Both married in their early twenties to good people. My daughter and son in law bought their own home at 23.
I took a lot of flack from people for making my kids work for everything they got. My daddy did the same. He used say, "Don't do anything for anyone that they can do for themselves, that's not helping them, it's hurting them. Helping is doing the things they can't do for themselves."

Listened to some Ohio State podcasts…..takeaways:

1. We can’t run on them. Oregon and PSU were tougher than they will face against us.
2. We can’t throw on them. Because of our inability to run on them the safeties will be able to help in pass coverage.
3. They will be able to get defensive calls in because the D coordinator practiced with Cutcliffe at Duke.
4. They simply have to slow down our D Line and they will throw all over us because Carson Beck did.
5. The cold weather will impact us.
6. Most think they’ll win and cover.

This would be a really good time for our Oline to have its best game of the season
