Recruiting Football Talk VIII

If you put a smart dog's brain into a human body, do you think it would be smart enough to talk? Would it learn how to open doors or know that the fridge keeps stuff cold or get it own water from the sink?

And being honest here...

Stupidity aside, my lab waits patiently by his water and food bowls to be served. Also, kindly waits for others to enter a door, stairs, etc before entering.

We are training him to be a therapy dog, nursing homes, schools, etc. He is so laid back, he's asleep, literally.

Jackcrevol's lab for president.

And those stats were all before losing their starting LT and All-American Center...
They got pushed around by Michigan on both sides of the ball. Even their homers are worried about the o-line. They are saying that Chip Kelly will scheme around the o-line deficiencies. Good luck, the entire line is made up of mediocre at best guards and we have speed off the edge coming out of our azz.

Looking at the portal... a few names I'd personally see as good additions

EDGE:
Jones Jr. from FSU great size, high rated dude and just a year left
Olds from Kent State another 1 year guy like his size and his production I also like small school to big school transfers cause they seem to have less entitlement issues

RB:
IF I was gonna take one, Justice Haynes from Bama would be on the immediate radar I really think our RB room is good though but a 1 year plug & play guy could be useful

WR:
Concepcion from NC State (has 2 years left and has had 50 or more receptions in his first 2 already with 1300 yards and 16 TDs)
Cook II from Texas a bit worrying he's played in 20 games in 2 years and only has 16 receptions...not sure how a former top 50 guy can't get on the field. Former track star too

TE:
Max Klare from Purdue, like our TE room but will be inexperienced if Staes leaves. Klare has 73 catches and 881 yards with 4 TDs in his 19 games at Purude. Has 2 years left, but a good season next year for a big brand and he likely declares.

DB:
Tacario Davis, 1 year left 6'4" 190lbs him at STAR and Boo moved to SS?

OT:
Fa'amoe from Washington State (take all the OL we can get imo)

LB:
Hill-Green from Colorado...dude seems to be chasing the bag or something, 3 schools already in 4 years, but the 3 years he played he produced.
McCullough from OU...this guy's length is insane could be a cover specialist played DB in HS even has had 2 years at OU as well so some development already

Wild wild take. “Got fired in the NFL so he can’t cut it.”

Shall we go down the list of coaches?

It's accurate though...I mean what has he actually done other than leave early?

He recruited 4 guys here, Squirrel is the only one that stayed or produced and he didn't coach him for a single week.

Inherited every WR that produced in 2021, 2022 was the break out year for our passing attack/team though and he wasn't here.

I didn't even say he couldn't cut it just said he wasn't it...which so far in his career has been true. Didn't recruit well here, didn't stay long enough to develop anyone, the job he left for terminated him after 2 seasons and he spent an entire year out of coaching.

What HAS Kodi Burns actually proven thus far for the sort of fandom some of ya'll are giving the dude?

My dog has opposable thumbs and speaks fluent english already. He is really big and neurotic though. Scared of his own shadow.Sexy2.jpg

Ask @Weezer . Basically the same thing. Yeti brain <= dog brain

Burns was released a full season before Allen was fired. Burns didn't work this season and just now got back into coaching at USF.

Other than Auburn he's never been anywhere longer than 2 seasons and he's only 35.
Didn't realize he was let go before Allen.

Still, there is a difference in college and NFL coaching. Golesh thought enough of him to snatch him up when he got the chance. Burns did a great job with Tillman (who he transformed into a different WR), Velus, and Payton. He gets some credit for Hyatt too. And he did a great job with Heupel's WRs at UCF. Pope is the one I question. I'd take Burns back.
