Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Alabama, with the playoffs on the line, lost to OU by 22 while only scoring 3 points.

But they'll step up against a group of top-15 teams? 😅🤣

Stop making me laugh.

All these SEC lovers suddenly coming out of the woodworks is disgusting 🤢🤮🤮🤮
If the SEC sucks...then we suck. Surely you're not so dumb or blinded by whatever issue you have that you can't see the difference in the SEC and every other league.

Everybody yapping about parity...and the SEC as a whole will once again obliterate every other conference on draft day.

It is.

It's why three 3-loss SEC teams are ahead of many 2 and 1 loss teams from lower conferences...

First order is to get rid of the guaranteed top-4 spots for conf champs. That's the biggest things screwing things up.
I mean I don't disagree, in merit. But at some point, you have to answer the question what teams are better?

Indiana has a great record. Penn St has a great record.

You know who else had a great record? Iowa. Last year. Big 10 runner up. And we ran them in the bowl game.

I'll give OSU, Michigan ( most years) and Penn St the benefit of the doubt. They at least play each other year inn year out in the regular season, and hold their own ooc.

The rest of the big 18 can kick rocks.

And the SEC needs to be getting a little more credit. Losing a road game at night in the SEC is a lot different that most home losses to bad teams in other conferences.

This system is dumb and I hope SMU,az St and Boise get handled.

Cause If this is any indication of what's to come... The playoff sucks. And the bottom half of this bracket has a cake walk to ATL.

Seems the "fix" to college football is with rotating conference "challenges" like you see in basketball.

Those challenges would serve as a major litmus test for comparing conferences, especially when teams end up with cupcake conference schedules by (mostly) no fault of their own.

Either 4, 16-team conferences or just expand this out to 6 or 8 CFP-qualifying conferences and make a rotation of challenges. 12 game schedule? 8 conf. games, 1-2 FCS opponents, 2 rotating conference challenges. Permanent cross-conference rivalries would be the challenge games or an extra game depending on year.

That would give paper tiger teams more opportunity to lose and good teams from bad conferences more opportunity to prove their capability.

Plus, big time rare matchups. TV would love it. Who doesn't want to see Florida draw at Boise in November? Or Michigan have to play at LSU in September?

I hope they all suck, except us 😅

Just give me 3 years of being Clemson and I can die happy lol

We wouldn't be the first or last (OSU, USC, FSU, Miami, OU, Texas). I'd happily run a down SEC all day long.
