Funny story... when I was 10-12 year old I was always building stuff. I built this hang glider out of thin strips of wood and this paper my dad brought home in rolls. It was like potato chip bag material that was defective. It had the logos printed on the paper. I covered the wood frame with the paper. It had like a 10' wingspan. I talked my brother who was 4 years younger, in jumping off the back porch. I'd say it was about 10' drop. It didn't slow him down a bit.
Another time my brother and I were going through a neighborhood garage sale. We came across an old military parachute. We had to buy it. Our thought was we would use it behind our boat like a parasail. We took it home and put it in the garage. One summer day it was really windy and we thought it would be a good time to try it out in the back yard. I strapped my brother in. Tied a 50' rope to him. Tied the other end to a fence post, upwind. Got some air in the parachute and bam. It would pick him up about 10 feet and slam him on the ground. Pick him up again and slam him back on the ground, over and over. I was laughing so hard I couldn't help him. He was so mad at me. Oh to have video.
